App-Connect
App-Connect enables the user to display and operate content and functions from the mobile device on the
Infotainment system screen.
App-Connect lets you display and operate selected content and functions from your mobile telephone on the
Infotainment system screen.
For this purpose, the mobile device needs to be connected to the Infotainment system via a USB interface with data
transfer function.
Some technologies can also be used inWireless App-Connect via the Bluetooth interface and a Wi-Fi connection.

Prerequisites
✓ The mobile device supports the technologiesApple CarPlay™, Android Auto™ and MirrorLink®. It may also be
possible to use Apple CarPlay or Android Auto wirelessly. Only selected apps are supported. Further information is
available on the internet pages of the providers.
✓ For wired use: The original manufacturer’s cable is used.
✓ For wired use: The mobile device is connected to the Infotainment system via the USB port.
✓ Applies only to Android Auto and MirrorLink: A suitable app must be installed on the smartphone.
✓ Applies only to Apple CarPlay: Voice recognition was activated on the iPhone before usingApple CarPlay for the
first time.

The availability of the App-Connect technologies is country-specific and may vary depending on the mobile device
used.

The wireless function ofApp Connect may be restricted or completely unavailable due to legal requirements
when you cross the border into a country that uses legal radio frequencies that differ from those in your home
country. This may be indicated by a message displayed on the Infotainment system. This restriction does not
apply to the wired App-Connect function, which can still be used.
Wireless App-Connect may not be supported by all
technologies.
Opening the App-Connect main menu
Navigation to the App-Connect main menu depends on the Infotainment system used.
