Full hub caps  
Never ignore any warning lamps or text mes-  
sages that appear.  
Stop the vehicle as soon as possible and  
when safe to do so.

Remove the wheel cover  
Take the lug wrench from the vehicle toolkit  
page 23.

Install the wheel cover  
The anti-theft wheel bolt has a separate cover  
cap. This cap only fits the anti-theft wheel bolt,  
not the regular bolts.  
A
Fit bolt  
first; position the wheel cover and  
fit the remaining bolts.  
NOTICE  
Remove hub caps carefully and fit them again  
properly so as to avoid damage to the vehicle.  
Wheel change  
NOTICE  
Introduction  
The wheel cover is secured to the wheel and can-  
not be removed without first removing the wheel  
bolts.  
Only change the wheel yourself when the car is  
parked in a safe place, you are familiar with the  
necessary actions and safety procedures and you  
have access to all the correct tools! Seek expert  
assistance if this is not the case.  
Wheel bolt cover  
WARNING  
Changing a wheel can be dangerous, especially  
when carried out at the side of a road. Please  
note the following points in order to reduce the  
risk of serious injuries:  
Stop the vehicle as soon as possible in a safe  
location. Park the vehicle at a safe distance  
from moving traffic in order to carry out the  
wheel change.  
All passengers, especially children, must be  
at a safe distance and away from your area  
of work during the wheel change.  
Switch on the hazard warning lights and set  
up the warning triangle to warn other road  
users.

According to the version of the vehicle, wheel  
bolt caps may not be available. For more infor-  
mation about your vehicle, consult the instruc-  
tion manual - digital version on the website  
www.vw.com.br and also on the My Volkswagen  
app.  
Make sure that the ground is flat and firm. If  
necessary use a large, strong board or similar  
support for the vehicle jack.  
Only change the wheel yourself if you feel  
confident carrying out the procedure. Seek  
expert assistance if this is not the case.  
The caps protect the wheel bolts and must be  
fully fitted back after changing the wheel.  
Always use suitable and undamaged tools to  
change the wheel.  
Removing and fitting the protection caps  
Remove:  
Always switch off the engine, firmly apply  
the handbrake and, with an automatic gear-  
box move the selector lever to position P or  
engage a gear on a manual gearbox to re-  
duce the risk of the vehicle moving.  
1. Take the wire hook from the vehicle toolkit  
page 23.  
2. Pass the extractor hook through the opening  
in the cover Fig. 30and pull it out in the di-  
rection of the arrow.  
The wheel bolt tightening torque should be  
checked with a torque wrench immediately  
after changing a wheel.  
Install:  
1. fit until the stop on the wheel bolts.
