What you should be mindful of  
— We recommend keeping the interior temperature  
no more than 5 ° C lower than the outdoor tem-  
perature.

to prevent odour formation.

Cooling system  
When the cooling system is switched on, the tem-  
perature and humidity in the vehicle will drop.  
Always keep the fan on.

Switching on the cooling system prevents the win-  
dows from misting up.  
Risk of accident!  
In recirculation mode, there is no fresh air supply  
from the outside. This can result in loss of driver  
attention and fogging up of windows.  
Automatic activation of the cooling system  
Automatic activation of the cooling system prevents  
the windows from misting up. Switching on takes  
place under the following conditions:  
Keep the recirculation mode switched on for  
a short time only.

The blower is switched on.  
The air distribution control is in the position.  
Operating conditions for the cool-  
ing system  
In this case, the recirculation mode is switched off  
and cannot be switched on.

The temperature controller is set to minimum  
temperature.  
In recirculation mode, there is no fresh air supply

drip off the air conditioning system. This is not  
a leak.

Operation  
— Increase the blower speed, switch on the cooling  
system, and set the air distribution to the wind-  
screen.  
Automatic switch-off of the cooling system  
If the coolant temperature is too high, the cooling  
system may switch off automatically. This ensures  
sufficient engine cooling.

What you should be mindful of  
— We recommend keeping the interior temperature

When the fan speed is reduced completely, the  
Climatronic is switched off.  
— We recommend switching the cooling system off  
about 10 minutes before the end of the journey  
to prevent odour formation.

— If the vehicle is equipped with the Climatronic au-  
tomatic air conditioning system, then we recom-  
mend using the automatic mode to achieve the  
desired conditions in the vehicle interior safely  
and efficiently.  
Switch the cooling system on/off  
When the cooling system is switched on, the  
temperature and humidity in the vehicle will  
drop.  
Switching on the cooling system prevents the  
windows from misting up.

Switch automatic mode on

This function keeps the temperature constant  
and prevents the windows from misting.  
Always keep the fan on.

The recirculation mode prevents contaminated  
outside air getting into the interior of the vehi-  
cle.  
After pressing the  
button, the  
symbol  
is shown in the Climatronic display even if the  
conditions for switching on the cooling system are  
not met. The cooling system switches on when the  
conditions for switching on the cooling system are  
met.  
Operation  
Heated rear window  
— Using the button on the operating part of the  
air conditioning.  
With a temperature setting outside of the number  
range, one of the following icons will be displayed in  
the Climatronic display:  
Windscreen heating switches off automatically after  
some time.  
If the engine is switched off when the heating is on  
and turned back on again within about 10 minutes,  
the heating is continued.

When the air conditioner is operating, the en-  
gine idle speed may increase automatically.  
Troubleshooting  
The indicator light in the button or below the but-  
ton flashes  
Troubleshooting  
The heating does not work as the battery charging  
level of the 12 volt vehicle battery is too low.  
Water under the vehicle  
When the cooling system is switched on, water can  
drip off the air conditioning system. This is not  
a leak.  
Seat ventilation

— Switch on automatic mode.

— Increase the blower speed, switch on the cooling  
system, and set the air distribution to the wind-

NOTICE  
Risk of seat damage!  
Do not kneel on the seats or otherwise apply con-  
centrated pressure to them.

Automatic switch-off of the cooling system  
If the coolant temperature is too high, the cooling  
system may switch off automatically. This ensures  
sufficient engine cooling.  
Do not turn on the ventilation in the following sit-  
uations:  
·
— The seat is not occupied.  
— There are objects on the seat, such as a child  
seat.  
Heated windscreen  
— There are additional seat covers or protective  
covers on the seat.  
Usage  
Windscreen heating is used for defrosting or venti-  
lating the windscreen.

— Press the or button above the control panel  
of the air conditioner.  
Analogue instrument cluster  
The ventilation is switched on with maximum venti-  
lation output. By repeatedly pressing the button, the  
ventilation output is reduced until it is switched off.  
Overview  
Overview of instrument cluster  
The ventilation output is indicated by the number of  
illuminated indicator lights in the button.  
The ventilation can be adjusted with the igni-  
tion on. The ventilation is only switched on af-  
ter the engine has been started.

Never run the fuel tank completely empty!

In poor visibility and with dipped headlights  
off, the brightness of the instrument cluster  
lighting is reduced to remind the driver to turn on  
the light.
