outside air getting into the interior of the vehi-
cle.
After pressing the
button, the
symbol
is shown in the Climatronic display even if the
conditions for switching on the cooling system are
not met. The cooling system switches on when the
conditions for switching on the cooling system are
met.
Operation

— Using the button on the operating part of the
air conditioning.
With a temperature setting outside of the number
range, one of the following icons will be displayed in
the Climatronic display:
Windscreen heating switches off automatically after
some time.
If the engine is switched off when the heating is on
and turned back on again within about 10 minutes,
the heating is continued.

When the air conditioner is operating, the en-
gine idle speed may increase automatically.

The heating does not work as the battery charging
level of the 12 volt vehicle battery is too low.

When the cooling system is switched on, water can
drip off the air conditioning system. This is not
a leak.

— Increase the blower speed, switch on the cooling
system, and set the air distribution to the wind-
screen.
NOTICE
Risk of seat damage!
Do not kneel on the seats or otherwise apply con-
centrated pressure to them.

Automatic switch-off of the cooling system
If the coolant temperature is too high, the cooling
system may switch off automatically. This ensures
sufficient engine cooling.
Do not turn on the ventilation in the following sit-
uations:

— The seat is not occupied.
— There are objects on the seat, such as a child
seat.
Heated windscreen
— There are additional seat covers or protective
covers on the seat.
Usage
Windscreen heating is used for defrosting or venti-
lating the windscreen.
