Parking and manoeuvring -> Brake Assist Systems for Your Volkswagen Touareg SUV Third Generation (2018-2025)

The vehicle is damaged in the area of the
Electronic Stabilisation Programme (ESC)
hulls, e.g. as a result of a parking impact.
The electronic stabilisation programme helps to
reduce the risk of skidding and to improve
stability in certain driving situations by braking
the necessary wheels. The electronic

stabilisation programme detects limiting driving
dynamics situations such as vehicle oversteer
and understeer or wheel slip. The system helps
to stabilise the vehicle by selectively
intervening on the bor by reducing the
engine torque.
Changes have been made to the paintwork
in the area of the camera or structural
changes, e.g. to the front of the vehicle or to
the running gear.
Solution for all cases
Switch off the system temporarily.

mme cannot intervene in the same way
the road was dry. In the case of "aquapla-
ing" (when driving on a film of water instead
of on the road), the electronic stabilisation
programme cannot help the driver to control
vehicle because contact with the road
se is lost and, as a result, the vehicle
cannt be braked or controlled.
Once the source of the error has been
eliminated, the system can be switched
on again.
If the system still behaves unusually, have it

programme cannot override the limits imposed
by physics, nor improve the available power
transmission, nor keep the vehicle on the road
when the vehicle swerves due to driver
distraction.
However, the electronic stabilisation programme
improves the vehicle's controllability and helps
to maintain the desired vehicle path in extreme
sea conditions by exploiting the driver's steering
wheel movements. If the vehicle is driven at such
speed that the vehicle leaves the road

To prevent the disc brake from overheating, the
EDS is automatically switched off if the brake is
subjected to extreme stress. The EDS switches
back on automatically as soon as the brake
cools down.
The electronic stabilisation programme includes
the anti-lock braking system, brake assist, anti-
skid control and electronic differential lock in
the electronic stabilisation programme. . In
situations where insufficient traction is
achieved, the anti-skid acceleration control can
be deactivated by pressing the acceleration
control button page 251. The acceleration
anti-skid control must be switched on again as
soon as there is sufficient traction again.

The electronic stabilisation programme only
works when the engine is running and includes
the anti-lock braking system, the electronic
differential lock and the anti-skid control during
acceleration.
WARNING
The effectiveness of ESC can be significantly
reduced if other components or systems
affecting the driving dynamics have not been
properly maintained or are not functioning
correctly. This also affects, among others, the
brakes, tyres and other systems mentioned
above.
The anti-skid control during acceleration can be

Never forget that vehicle modifications and
alterations can affect the operation of ABS,

Modifications to the suspension or the use
of unauthorised rim/tyre combinations may
