NOTICE
The LEDs cannot be replaced by the user.
Please seek the assistance of a specialist.
Volkswagen recommends a Volkswagen dealer
for this.
If the rubber or plastic caps are not correctly
fitted to the headlamp housing after a lamp has
been replaced, this may cause damage to the
electrical system (especially if water enters).
Additional lamp specifications
The specifications of some of the factory-fitted
headlamp or rear lamps may differ from those
of conventional lamps. The corresponding
designation is shown on the lamp cap or on the
lamp bulb.

Changing the headlamp bulbs
11. As a general rule, do not touch the lamp
bulb with your fingers. Fingerprints
evaporate with the heat of the burning
lamp, are deposited on the reflec- tor and
reduce the luminous intensity of the
headlamp.
Please note and at the beginning of this
chapter on page 296.
12. After replacing the lamp, check that it
works. If the lamp does not work, this may
be due to the lamp not being mounted
correctly, the connector not being fitted
correctly or, again, a fault with the lamp.
13. Always have the headlamp adjustment
checked by a specialist workshop whenever
a lamp on the front of the vehicle is
replaced.
For your own safety, do not ignore this
important checklist, otherwise serious acci
and injuries may occur.
Always follow the instructions in
checklist and observe the generally
applicable safety measures.
