Driving information  
Sensitivity – You can set the sensitivity of the dis-  
traction warning to High, Medium or Low.  
Distraction warning  
Description  
If you turn off the system, it will remain off the  
next time you turn on the ignition.  
Applies to: vehicles with distraction warning  
The distraction warning will provide an alert if  
the system detects that the driver is distracted  
from the traffic situation.  
Messages  
Applies to: vehicles with distraction warning  
The system detects if you are performing opera-  
tions while driving that could distract you from  
the traffic situation, such as adjusting the power  
seat*.  
If is displayed when there is a malfunction,  
the distraction warning functions may be unavail-  
able or may be limited.  
A message that indicates the cause and possible  
solution may appear with some displays. Try  
turning on the system again later.  
In this case, the system will prompt you to con-  
centrate on the traffic situation starting at low  
speeds with a display in the instrument cluster,  
as well as with an audio signal if you are very dis-  
tracted.  
If the malfunction remains, drive to an author-  
ized Audi dealer or authorized Audi Service Facili-  
ty immediately to have the malfunction correct-  
ed.  
System limitations  
In some cases, the system may be limited or may  
not operate at all:  
The following messages may appear, depending  
on the vehicle equipment:  
At speeds lower than approximately 6 mph  
(10 km/h)  
Supervision needed. Focus on the road at all  
times!  
If driver distraction is high due to external in-  
fluences (such as the traffic situation)  
If driver distraction is high due to operating  
equipment that is not part of the vehicle (such  
as mobile devices)  
High levels of distraction have been detected.

Low levels of distraction have been detected.  
If driver distraction is high due to use of the In-  
fotainment system  
Lap timer  
WARNING  
Introduction  
Applies to: vehicles with lap timer  
Observe the safety precautions and note the  
limitations of the assist systems, sensors, and  
cameras ðpage 127 to ðpage 130.  
You can record and evaluate lap times with the  
lap timer. You can operate the lap timer using the  
multifunction steering wheel ðpage 16.  
Operation

Opening the lap timer  
Turning the distraction warning on or off  
Select in the instrument cluster: Vehicle func-  
tions tab > button > Lap times.  
You can turn the distraction warning on or off  
and adjust its settings in the Driver assistance  
menu ðpage 130. The settings depend on the  
vehicle equipment.  
An additional indicator will appear in the head-up  
display*.  
WARNING  
Possible settings:  
Your focus should always be on driving your  
vehicle safely. As the driver, you have

complete responsibility for safety in traffic. To  
reduce the risk of an accident, only use the lap  
timer functions in such a way that you always  
maintain complete control over your vehicle in  
all traffic situations.  
Tips  
A maximum of 99 lap times can be meas-  
ured.  
If timing is paused, you can continue it later  
even if you turn off the ignition.  
Saved lap times cannot be individually de-  
leted from the total results.  
Tips  
You can retrieve information from the trip  
computer while the lap timer stopwatch is  
running.  
The saved lap timer values will remain after  
turning off the ignition.

Displaying lap statistics  
Requirement: the lap timer must be open.  
You can display the number of laps driven , the  
fastest lap +, the slowest lap , and the average  
time in the instrument cluster.  
Timing laps  
To start timing manually, select Start lap 1 in  
the menu.

To take a break , select Pause in the menu.  
To resume timing, select Resume in the menu.  
To display a split time, select Split time in the

menu. The split time appears for approxi-  
mately ten seconds in the instrument cluster.  
The current lap timing will continue running.  
The lap statistics list the lap times for the last  
30 laps. The fastest and slowest lap times out  
of up to 99 measured laps are also displayed.  
Canceling lap timing

The timing of the current lap will stop. The lap  
time will be erased and will not be included in the  
statistics.
