Send a text ðpage 197.  
Calling voicemail  
Send e-mail ðpage 197.  
Applies to: MMI: Select on the home screen:  
PHONE > Voicemail.  
Tips  
Pay attention to any synchronization  
prompts on your mobile device when down-  
loading contacts.  
Entering the voicemail number  
Requirement: there must be no voicemail num-  
ber stored.  
The contacts from the mobile device may  
not be transferred in alphabetical order. If  
there are too many entries, contacts with  
different first letters may be missing in the  
MMI.  
Enter the desired number.  
Press OK.  
Dialing the voicemail number  
Only the contacts from the active connected  
mobile device are displayed.  
Requirement: a voicemail number must be stor-  
ed.  
The contacts in the local MMI memory are  
always visible and can be accessed by other  
persons.  
Press Voicemail. The call begins immediately.  
Tips  
After turning off the ignition and exiting the  
vehicle, the mobile device directory will be  
updated when the MMI is started again if  
the mobile device is within range and the  
Bluetooth function is turned on in the mo-  
bile device and the MMI.  
This service must be set up and activated by  
the mobile phone service provider.  
Dialing a phone number  
Applies to: vehicles with phone  
Only the contacts in the local MMI memory  
can be deleted.  
Depending on the vehicle equipment, you may  
have the following options for dialing a phone  
number:  
Opening business cards  
Applies to: vehicles with phone  
Using text input in the MMI ðpage 26.  
Using voice operation ðpage 29.  
The business card shows you details about a con-  
tact.  
Call options  
Applies to: vehicles with phone  
To open a business card, press on a contact in  
the directory, or  
Press in the call list 5 ðpage 192, fig. 146.  
To accept or end a call, press the button on  
the multifunction steering wheel.  
Possible options in the business card:  
Depending on your mobile device, the following  
options may be available in the MMI when there  
is an incoming call:  
Call: press on a phone number.  
Storing a favorite: press .  
Deleting a favorite: press .  
Sending a text message: press .  
Starting navigation: press on an address.  
Sending an e-mail: press on an e-mail address.  
Send contact: you can select Text message or  
Answer  
Decline  
Message  
If you exit the vehicle during a phone call, the  
Bluetooth connection will be disconnected. De-  
pending on your mobile device, phone calls in  
E-mail ðpage 197.

Swapping a call  
progress may be automatically transferred from  
the MMI to your mobile device.  
Requirement: Conference ðpage 196 must be  
turned on. Two phone calls must be in progress.  
Tips  
You can alternate between two phone calls.  
The radio or media playback is muted during a  
phone call.  
Additional call options  
Press More.  
During a phone call  
Depending on the mobile device being used and  
the type of connection, the following options  
may be available:

Depending on your mobile device and the type of  
connection, the following options may be availa-  
ble during a call:  
Transfer call to mobile device  
Transfer the current call to your mobile device or  
Bluetooth headset*.  
End call  
Mute  
Switch to hands-free  
Sending a tone sequence  
Transfer the current call from your mobile device  
to the MMI.  
Press Numbers. You can enter tone sequences  
(DTMF) and send them to the other party on the  
call.  
Add call  
Hold  
You can start a new call. The current call will be  
put on hold.  
Requirement: Conference ðpage 196 must be  
turned on.  
Remove conference member  
Puts the current call on hold. To resume the call,  
press Resume.  
You can remove conference call members individ-  
ually when a conference call is active.  
Answering an incoming call  
Microph. input  
One of these options will be available, depending  
on your mobile phone service provider and the se-  
lected Conference setting ðpage 196:  
You can adjust the input level of the microphone  
using the slider.  
Answer: the current phone call will be put on  
hold. The incoming call will be answered.  
Replace: the active call will be replaced with  
the incoming call.  
Tips  
The call waiting function must be activated in  
your mobile device to be alerted about an in-  
coming call during an active call.  
Declining an incoming call  
Making an emergency call  
Applies to: vehicles with phone  
If you select Decline, the incoming call will be de-  
clined.  
Requirement: a mobile device must be connected  
to the MMI.  
Conference  
Requirement: Conference ðpage 196 must be  
turned on. Two phone calls must be in progress.  
Applies to: MMI: Select on the home screen:  
PHONE > Dial phone number > the local emer-  
gency call number (for example, 911) > Dial.  
Depending on your mobile phone service provid-  
er, you can add a call on hold and up to five active  
callers to a conference call.
