operate in your vehicle. If it is to be installed in another

operations which require prolonged attention while

the vehicle is stationary.

When the engine is switched off and to prevent

discharging of the battery, the audio system may switch

off after a few minutes.

RADIO

SELECTING A STATION

The exterior environment (hills, buildings, tunnel, car park, below

ground…) may prevent reception, even in RDS station tracking

mode. This phenomenon is normal in the propagation of radio

waves and is in no way indicative of a fault with the audio system.

Press LIST to display the list of stations

received in alphabetical order.

letter (e.g. A, B, D, F, G, J, K, …).

RDS

RECEIVING TA MESSAGES

The TA (TrafÞc Announcement) function gives priority to TA alert

messages. To operate, this function needs good reception of a

radio station transmitting this type of message. When a trafÞc

report is transmitted, the current audio source (Radio, CD,

USB, …) is interrupted automatically to play the TA message.

Normal playback of the audio source resumes at the end of the

transmission of the message.

RDS, if displayed, enables you to continue listening to the same

station by automatic retuning to alternative frequencies. However,

in certain conditions, coverage of an RDS station may not be

assured throughout the country as radio stations do not cover

100 % of the territory. This explains the loss of reception of the

station during a journey.

DIGITAL RADIO - LISTENING TO

INFO MESSAGES

Select "RDS" or "DAB/FM auto

tracking" and conÞrm to save.

"RDS" or "DAB/FM" is displayed on the

screen.

The INFO function gives priority to TA alert messages. To be

active, this function needs good reception of a radio station that

transmits this type of message. When a message is transmitted,

the current audio source (Radio, CD, USB, …) is interrupted

automatically to receive the INFO message. Normal play

resumes at the end of the message transmission.

DIGITAL RADIO - DAB/FM AUTO TRACKING

Make a long press on TA INFO to

display the list of categories.

DAB/FM auto tracking allows you to continue listening to the same

station, by temporarily switching to the equivalent analogue station

until the digital signal is stable again.

AUDIO CD

PLAYING A CD

Insert 12 cm diameter circular compact discs only.

Press LIST to display the list of tracks

on the CD.

Some anti-pirating systems, on original discs or CDs copied using a

personal recorder, may cause faults which are no reßection on the

quality of the original player.

Without pressing the EJECT button, insert a CD in the player,

play begins automatically.

To play a disc which has already been

inserted, press the SOURCE button several

times in succession and select "CD".

CD, USB

INFORMATION AND ADVICE

On a single disc, the CD player can read up to 255 MP3 Þles spread

over 8 directory levels. However, it is recommended that this be kept

to 2 levels so as to limit the time taken to access and play the CD.

The audio system will only play Þles with extension ".mp3" or ".wma"

and a compression rate that is constant or variable between 32 Kbps

and 320 Kbps.

During play, the folder structure is not observed.

In order to be able to play a recorded CDR or CDRW, when recording

it is preferable to select standards ISO 9660 level 1.2 or Joliet.

If the disc is recorded in another format, it may not be played correctly.

It is advisable to restrict Þle names to 20 characters without using

special characters (e.g. " ? ; ù) to avoid any playing or displaying

problems.

It is recommended that the same recording standard is always used

for an individual disc, with as low a speed as possible (4x maximum)

for optimum sound quality.

In the particular case of a multi-session CD, the Joliet standard is

recommended.

The playlists accepted are types .m3u and .pls.

Do not connect a hard disk or USB device other than audio players to

the USB port. This may cause damage to your installation.

The number of Þles is limited to 5 000 in 500 directories on a

maximum of 8 levels.

PLAYING A COMPILATION

Press one of the buttons to select the

next or previous track.

Insert an MP3 compilation in the CD player or

connect a memory stick to the USB port, directly or

via an extension lead.

next or previous folder in the order

chosen.

The system creates playlists (temporary memory) the creation time

for which can take from a few seconds to several minutes.

The playlists are updated every time the ignition is switched off or a

USB memory stick is connected.

Play starts automatically after a period which depends on the

capacity of the USB memory stick.

Press and hold one of the buttons for

fast forwards or backwards.

At a Þrst connection, the order suggested is by folder.

When connecting again, the order previously chosen is

retained.

iPod^®or PORTABLE PLAYER

The audio Þles on a Mass Storage portable player* can

be heard through the vehicle's speakers by connecting

it to the USB port (cable not supplied).

The iPod^®must be updated regularly for the best connection.

The playlists are those deÞned in the iPod^®.

Management of the device is via the audio system controls.

The iPod^®must be generation 5 or later.

If the portable player is not recognised by the USB port,

connect it to the auxiliary Jack socket.

The auxiliary Jack socket permits the connection of a portable

non-mass storage device or an iPod^®if not recognised by

the USB port.

Press the SOURCE button several times

in succession and select "AUX".

Do not connect a device to the USB port and to the auxiliary

Jack socket at the same time.

First adjust the volume on your portable device.

a suitable cable (not supplied).

STREAMING - PLAYING AUDIO FILES

The play modes available are:

Depending on the compatibility of the phone

Normal: the tracks are played in order, depending on the

classiÞcation of the selected Þles.

Random: the tracks in an album or folder are played in a

random order.

Random all: all of the tracks saved in the media are played in

random order.

Repeat: the tracks played are only those from the current

album or folder.

Streaming allows music Þles on a telephone to be heard via

the vehicle's speakers.

The telephone must support the appropriate Bluetooth proÞles

(proÞles A2DP/AVRCP).

PAIRING A TELEPHONE

The services offered depend on the network, the SIM card and the compatibility of the Bluetooth telephone used.

Consult your telephone's manual and your operator to Þnd out which services are available to you. A list of mobile telephones which offer the best

range of services is available from the CITROËN dealer network.

For safety reasons and because they require prolonged attention on the part of the driver, the operations for pairing of the Bluetooth mobile

telephone with the Bluetooth hands-free system of your audio system must be carried out with the vehicle stationary and the ignition on.

sound quality between

the different audio

For optimum sound quality, the audio settings (Volume, Bass, Treble,

Ambience, Loudness) can be adapted to the different sound sources,

which may result in audible differences when changing source (radio,

CD…).

Check that the audio settings (Volume, Bass,

Treble, Ambience, Loudness) are adapted to

the sources listened to. It is advisable to set

the AUDIO functions (Bass, Treble, Front-Rear

Fader, Left-Right Balance) to the middle position,

select the musical ambience "None" and set the

loudness correction to the "Active" position in CD

mode or to the "Inactive" position in radio mode.
