Function of PRE-SAFE® PLUS (anticipatory
occupant protection plus)
PRE-SAFE® Sound: provided that the multi‐
media system is switched on, generates a
brief noise signal to stimulate the innate pro‐
tective mechanism of a person's hearing.

Suitable positioning of the child restraint sys‐
tem (/ page 55)
PRE-SAFE® PLUS can detect certain impacts,
particularly an imminent rear impact, and take
pre-emptive measures to protect the vehicle
occupants. These measures cannot necessarily
prevent an imminent impact.
PRE-SAFE® PLUS can implement the following
measures independently of each other:

PRE-SAFE® is able to detect certain critical driv‐
ing situations and implement pre-emptive meas‐
ures to protect the vehicle occupants.
PRE-SAFE® can implement the following meas‐
ures independently of each other:

tion may result in damage to the seat and/or
the object.

Tightening the seat belts on the driver's seat
and front passenger seat.

Stow objects in a suitable place.

Activating the rear hazard warning lights at a
higher flashing frequency.
Reversing the PRE-SAFE® system measures

front passenger seat to a more favourable

measures that were taken are reversed.
