Bulb replacement

Switch off the ignition and switch off

the relevant switch or close the doors.

Only hold a new bulb at the base. Do

not touch the bulb glass with bare

hands.

Use only the same bulb type for

replacement.

Replace headlight bulbs from within

the engine compartment.

Bulb check

After a bulb replacement switch on

the ignition, operate and check the

lights.

Lift wiper arm. Disengage wiper blade

as shown in illustration and remove.

Attach the wiper blade slightly angled

to the wiper arm and push until it

engages.

Lift the wiper arm until it stays in the

raised position, press button to

disengage the wiper blade and

remove.

Attach the wiper blade slightly angled

to the wiper arm and push until it

engages.

Halogen headlights

Lower wiper arm carefully.

Halogen headlights with separate

bulbs for low beam and high beam.

Lower wiper arm carefully.

1. Rotate the cap anticlockwise and

remove it.

3. Detach the bulb from the bulb

holder and replace the bulb.

4. Insert the bulb holder.

Low beam (1) outer bulb.

High beam (2) inner bulb.

2. Disengage bulb holder by

pressing the retainer to the front.

Withdraw the bulb holder from the

reflector housing.

5. Fit the cap and rotate clockwise.

2. Disengage bulb holder by

pressing the retainer to the front.

Withdraw the bulb holder from the

reflector housing.

High beam (2)

Daytime running lights

In case of defective LEDs, have them

replaced by a workshop.

LED headlights

Headlights for low and high beam,

sidelights, daytime running lights and

turn lights are designed as LEDs and

cannot be changed.

Have lights repaired by a workshop in

case of failure.

1. Rotate the cap anticlockwise and

remove it.

Front fog lights

1. Grand Sport, Sports Tourer

3. Detach the bulb from the bulb

holder and replace the bulb.

4. Insert the bulb holder.

5. Fit the cap and rotate clockwise.

Front turn lights

In case of defective LEDs, have them

replaced by a workshop.

Side lights

In case of defective LEDs, have them

replaced by a workshop.

Vehicle care

Wrap a cloth around the tip of a flat

screwdriver to prevent paint

damage. Insert the screwdriver in

the recess at the edge of the

cover. Release the cover by

levering it out carefully.

2. Grand Sport, Sports Tourer

Wrap a cloth around the tip of the

flat screwdriver to prevent paint

damage. Lever out the faceplate

by inserting the screwdriver in the

recess and remove it.

Country Tourer

Undo screw with the torx

screwdriver and remove the

faceplate.

3. Undo three screws with the torx

screwdriver and remove the light

assembly to the front.

Undo the screw with a torx

screwdriver.

6. Remove and replace the bulb unit

and attach the plug connector.

Note that the bulb and the socket

are one unit and have to be

changed together.

7. Insert the bulb socket into the light

assembly by turning clockwise

and engage.

8. Mount the light assembly by

tightening the three screws.

9. Attach the faceplate and tighten

the screw.

10. Grand Sport, Sports Tourer

Attach and engage the cover.

4. Turn the bulb socket

anticlockwise and remove it from

the light assembly.

1. Remove the cover on the

respective side.

Tail lights

Tail lights and brake lights are

designed as LEDs. In case of failure,

have LEDs replaced by a workshop.

Turn lights, rear fog light and reverse

lights are designed for bulbs and can

be changed as follows.

5. Disengage the plug connector by

pressing the retaining lug.

2. Unscrew the two plastic securing

nuts from the inside by hand.

6. Attach the bulb socket to the light

assembly.

7. Attach the light assembly to the

vehicle body and tighten the

securing nuts from the inside of

the load compartment. Attach

cover.

4. Turn the turn light bulb socket

anticlockwise and remove it from

the light assembly.

3. Carefully withdraw light assembly

from recess and remove. Take

care that the cable is not being

pulled off.

1. Release the cover in the tailgate

and remove it.

5. Remove and replace the turn light

bulb.

2. Unscrew the plastic securing nut

by hand.

4. Turn the bulb socket

anticlockwise and remove it from

the light assembly.

5. Detach the bulb from the bulb

socket and replace the bulb.

3. Turn the turn light bulb socket

anticlockwise and remove it from

the light assembly.

6. Insert the bulb socket into the tail

light assembly. Fit light assembly

on the tailgate and tighten the

screw from the inside. Attach

cover.

Sports Tourer, Country Tourer

Light assembly in the body

2. Carefully withdraw light assembly

from recess and remove. Take

care that the cable is not being

pulled off.

4. Detach the bulb from the bulb

socket and replace the turn light

bulb.

5. Attach the bulb socket to the light

assembly.

6. Attach the light assembly to the

vehicle body and tighten the

screws. Close covers.

1. Open the covers with screwdriver.

Unscrew and remove both

screws.

4. Turn the bulb socket

anticlockwise and remove it from

the light assembly.

5. Detach the bulb from the bulb

socket and replace the bulb.

3. Carefully withdraw the light

assembly from the recess and

remove. Take care that the cable

is not being pulled off.

1. Release the cover in the tailgate

and remove it.

2. Unscrew the plastic securing nut

by hand.

Side turn lights

To replace bulb, remove lamp

housing:

Reverse light

2. Turn bulb holder anticlockwise

and remove from housing.

6. Insert the bulb socket into the light

assembly. Fit light assembly on

the tailgate and tighten the screw

from the inside. Attach cover.

1. Slide the lamp housing forward

and remove it at the back.

3. Pull bulb from bulb holder and

replace it.

4. Insert bulb holder and turn

clockwise.

Fuse extractor

Electrical system

A fuse extractor may be located in the

fuse box in the engine compartment.

The extractor has two sides, each

side is designed for a different type of

fuses.

5. Insert left end of the lamp, slide to

the left and insert right end.

Data on the replacement fuse must

match the data on the defective fuse.

Number plate light

There are two fuse boxes in the

vehicle:

The number plate light is designed as

LEDs and can not be changed. In

case of defective LEDs, have them

replaced by a workshop.

Before replacing a fuse, turn off the

respective switch and the ignition.

A blown fuse can be recognised by its

melted wire.

Interior lights

Have the following bulbs replaced by

a workshop:

courtesy light, reading lights

load compartment light

instrument panel illumination

Caution

Do not replace the fuse until the

cause of the fault has been

remedied.

Some functions are protected by

several fuses.

Fuses may also be inserted without

existence of a function.
