Driving -> Driving profile selection for Your Volkswagen E Golf 4 Door Second Generation (2017-2020)

Driving profile selection
Introduction to the topic
By selecting different driving profiles, the driver can adapt the characteristics of the vehicle
systems to the current driving situation and an economical driving style. The adaptable vehicle
systems include the engine management system and the air conditioning system.
The effect on the vehicle settings in the individual driving profiles depends on the vehicle
equipment level.
The driving profile can be changed when the vehicle is stationary or while driving → Introduction
to the topic . After selecting a driving profile, the vehicle settings (excluding engine settings) are
switched to the new profile mode immediately. When traffic conditions allow, briefly take your
foot off the accelerator to also activate the newly selected driving profile for the engine.
WARNING
Selecting a driving profile while the vehicle is in motion can distract you from the road and
cause accidents.
Always drive carefully and responsibly.

Characteristics of the driving profiles
Normal: the driving profile is always selected after the vehicle’s drive system is activated. The
full power of the electric drive is available. The Adaptive Cruise Control (ACC) and Climatronic
are in Normal mode.
Normal is displayed on the Infotainment system.
Eco: in the Eco driving profile, the power of the electric drive is restricted in favour of lower
energy consumption. The maximum speed is reduced. Climatronic switches to consumption-
optimised Eco mode, whereby the blower and defrost function remain available. The Adaptive
Cruise Control (ACC) accelerates or brakes the vehicle in a fuel-efficient way.
displayed on the Infotainment system.
Eco is
Eco +: in the Eco + driving profile, the power of the electric drive is further restricted in favour
of lower energy consumption. The maximum speed is reduced. The heating and cooling
functions of Climatronic are switched off, whereby the blower and defrost function remain
available. There is no difference compared with Eco driving profile for the Adaptive Cruise
Control (ACC).
Eco + is displayed on the Infotainment system.
The display for the current driving profile may be hidden while certain other functions are
activated in the Infotainment system.
WARNING
The vehicle handling may change as a result of the different driving profiles. Never allow the
driving profile selection to tempt you into taking any risks when driving.
Always adapt your speed and driving style to the current visibility, weather and road or
traffic conditions.
The power limitation of the electric drive in the Eco and Eco + driving profiles can be
cancelled temporarily by rapidly pressing down the accelerator as far as it will go
(“kickdown function”).
