Transport -> Luggage compartment cover for Your Volkswagen Passat SUV Nineth Generation (2023-2025)

NOTICE  
Carrier systems that are fixed on the rear spoiler can damage the vehicle.  
Do not secure any luggage carriers or other carrier systems such as bicycle carriers on the vehicle’s rear spoiler.  
In the luggage compartment: opening the luggage  
compartment cover (illustration).  
Opening the luggage compartment cover  
1. Press down rear area of luggage compartment cover in the direction of the arrow → Fig. 1. The luggage compartment cover  
opens automatically.  
Closing the luggage compartment cover  
1. Pull the rolled-up luggage compartment cover evenly to the rear in the guides on the side trims and engage in the recesses at the  
end of the guides.  
WARNING  
Objects or animals on the luggage compartment cover can damage the luggage compartment cover and cause serious or fatal  
injuries in the event of sudden driving and braking manoeuvres or accidents.  
Never transport any objects on the luggage compartment cover.  
Never transport any animals on the luggage compartment cover.  
Opening the luggage compartment cover  
1. Open the boot lid. The luggage compartment cover opens automatically.  
Closing the luggage compartment cover  
1. Close the boot lid. The luggage compartment cover closes automatically.  
Deactivating automatic opening and closing of the luggage compartment cover  
In the luggage compartment: disengaging the roller cover of  
the luggage compartment cover.  
1. Open the boot lid.  
2. Disengage the luggage compartment cover from the side guides → Fig. 1 (arrow) in forward direction.  
To restore the function, insert the luggage compartment cover in the guides on both sides again and close the boot lid.

In the luggage compartment: removing the luggage  
compartment cover (illustration).

Removing the luggage compartment cover  
1. Open the luggage compartment cover, if necessary.  
2. Press the roller cover fully forwards in the side guides if necessary.  
3. Press and hold the side part of the luggage compartment cover → Fig. 1 1 in the direction of the arrow.  
4. Remove the luggage compartment cover towards the top.  
5. Release the side part of the luggage compartment cover.  
Fitting the luggage compartment cover  
1. Position the luggage compartment cover in the left mounting in the side trim.  
2. Press the side part of the luggage compartment cover → Fig. 1 1 in the direction of the arrow and place the luggage  
compartment cover in the right mounting in the side trim.  
3. Release the side part of the luggage compartment cover.  
4. Press the roller cover into the guides in the side trim if necessary.  
5. Check that the luggage compartment cover is securely engaged.  
Under the luggage compartment floor: stowing the luggage  
compartment cover (illustration).  
Depending on the equipment level, the removed luggage compartment cover can be stowed under the luggage compartment floor.

1. Remove the luggage compartment cover (→ Luggage compartment cover).  
2. Raise the luggage compartment floor or fold it forwards .  
3. If necessary, remove the covers of the side supports on the right and left.  
4. Fit the removed luggage compartment cover → Fig. 1 1 in the rear recesses of the side supports, starting on the left.  
5. If necessary, install the covers of the side supports on the right and left.  
6. Close the luggage compartment floor.
