The rear part of the luggage compartment floor can be folded forward. A stowage compartment, e.g. for the vehicle toolkit, can be  
found under the luggage compartment floor.

1. Grasp the handle recess in the luggage compartment floor and lift the rear part of the luggage compartment floor in the direction  
of the arrow → Fig. 1.  
2. Lock the luggage compartment floor in the folded-up position using the hook on the edge of the roof → Fig. 1 1 .  
Closing the luggage compartment floor  
1. If necessary, unhook the luggage compartment floor from the locking hook on the roof → Fig. 1 1 .  
2. Fold the luggage compartment floor down in the opposite direction to the arrow → Fig. 1, →

NOTICE  
Incorrect use can damage the luggage compartment floor or the trim of the luggage compartment.  
Do not allow the luggage compartment floor to fall when closing it, but always guide it downwards carefully.  
Always distribute loads over as wide an area as possible on the luggage compartment floor in order to avoid point loads.  
Depending on equipment, the vehicle may have a height-adjustable luggage compartment floor.  
Adjusting the height of the luggage compartment floor  
In the luggage compartment: adjusting the height of the  
luggage compartment floor.  
1. If necessary, remove the securing straps.  
2. Lift the luggage compartment floor and pull it to the rear out of the guides on the sides of the luggage compartment → Fig. 1

3. Insert the luggage compartment floor into the guides at the required height and push it forwards as far as it will go → Fig. 1

Do not allow the luggage compartment floor to fall when closing it, but always guide it downwards carefully.  
Always distribute loads (maximum 75 kg (165 lbs) in the upper position) over as wide an area as possible on the luggage  
compartment floor in order to avoid point loads.  
Transport heavy loads only when the luggage compartment floor is in the lower position.  
Volkswagen recommends that you secure items to the fastening rings with the aid of fixing systems or securing straps.
