Voice control is installed in the vehicle if the
or
button is present on the multifunction steering wheel or the VOICE button is
present on the Infotainment system and voice control is started after pressing the button, or if your vehicle understands the activation
word (→ Voice control).
Voice control is active and will recognise the spoken words.
Test voice control before starting a journey in order to familiarise yourself with the function.
Voice control features
Depending on country and the set language in the Infotainment system, the system language, voice control is available offline or
online.
Depending on the system language, voice commands (→ Voice control) can be formulated freely and colloquial. Voice commands
depend on the system language and equipment. For example, the statement “I’m cold” will lead to the temperature in the vehicle
being increased, or the statement “How long until I get there?” will result in output of the time remaining until the destination is
reached.
Depending on the system language, voice commands that are evaluated online allow an optimised POI search to be performed, e.g. for
POIs. Messages can also be dictated. For online mode, you need a valid contract for the vehicle for use of the mobile online services .
In some system languages, the voice commands must be formulated according to a certain pattern in order to guarantee recognition,
e.g. “Navigate to [Town, Street name, House number].
Further examples and suggestions for voice commands depend on the system language. These can be found in the Infotainment
system (→ Voice control).
The number of languages available in your country depends on the country in question.
If voice control is available online for your language, this will be used when voice control is activated.
Seat-based voice control
Depending on the model and equipment and in some countries, voice control can detect whether the driver or front passenger is
speaking by means of additional microphones. This enables you to open seat-related functions in the supported languages, e.g.
switching on the seat heating.
