would be unable to leave the vehicle or to  
fend for themselves. For example,

and illness or even death, especially in the  
case of small children.  
● Never switch off the ignition when the  
vehicle is in motion. The steering column  
lock could be activated or the steering lock  
could be engaged and it would not be

Automatic Unlock (Auto Unlock)

When the vehicle is locked, the tailgate unlocks  
automatically when it is opened using the  
button on the handle if a valid vehicle key is  
located in its proximity area → fig. 71 .  
NOTICE  
The sensing surfaces of the door handles could  
be activated by a jet of water or high-pressure  
steam if there is a valid vehicle key in the  
proximity zone. If at least one of the windows is  
open and the sensing surface is activated, the  
door handle sensing surfaces could be activated  
by a jet of water or high-pressure steam.  
After closing, the tailgate locks automatically. If  
the entire vehicle is unlocked, the tailgate does  
not lock automatically.

The functions of up to three different radio  
remote controls of certain products (e.g. the  
electric drive for the outside gate or garage  
door, the house alarm system or the lighting  
system) can be transferred to the buttons of the  
ceiling control unit.  
The programming must be carried out within  
approx. 5 minutes. If this time is exceeded, the  
programming is interrupted.  
Pre-programming steps  
– Familiarise yourself with the product  
manufacturer's manual.  
– Position the vehicle close to the product.  
– Switch on the ignition, but do not start the  
engine, and leave it on for the duration of the  
programming.

Programming and operation  
– The garage door or the electric drive  
mechanism are incompatible. They should be  
replaced.  
– Make the settings for the garage door  
opener control in the infotainment system

– Programming has failed. Re-program the

If the key cannot be programmed, this may be
