If the key can only be removed from the

ignition lock using the emergency release, have

the system checked by a specialist workshop.

If the key cannot be removed from the ignition lock:

Automatic locking (anti-theft protection)

If one of the following conditions is met, the

vehicle locks again automatically after approx.

to know the vehicle identification number.

– The vehicle has been unlocked, but not

opened.

– The vehicle has been unlocked via the lock

cylinder.

The remote operation of the key may be

a transmitter using the same frequency band

(e.g. radio communication device, mobile

phone, etc.) is in the vicinity of the vehicle.

– The vehicle has been locked with the

central locking button in the passenger

compartment.

Incorrect use of the central locking system can

cause serious injury.

When the vehicle is locked, the tailgate unlocks

automatically when it is opened using the

button on the handle if a valid vehicle key is

located in its proximity area → fig. 71 .

NOTICE

The sensing surfaces of the door handles could

be activated by a jet of water or high-pressure

steam if there is a valid vehicle key in the

proximity zone. If at least one of the windows is

open and the sensing surface is activated, the

door handle sensing surfaces could be activated

by a jet of water or high-pressure steam.

After closing, the tailgate locks automatically. If

the entire vehicle is unlocked, the tailgate does

not lock automatically.

Comfort functions

To close all power windows and the glass roof

keypad is not fully charged.

If the vehicle's fuel tank is almost empty or

exhausted, it may not be possible to unlock or

lock the vehicle with the Keyless Access system.

In order to be able to control the correct

locking of the vehicle, the unlocking
