Replacing the key battery
The new battery must comply with the specification
of the original battery
Environment
— Discharged batteries must not be disposed of in
household waste.
Removing the battery cover
— Dispose of discharged batteries in an environ-
mentally-friendly way.
Dispose of the vehicle key in accordance with
all applicable disposal regulations.
Central locking
Functionality
1. Fold out the key.
2. Release the battery cover with your thumbnail
or by inserting a flat-head screwdriver at the
marked points.
Central locking
The system unlocks and locks all doors, the fuel filler
flap and the boot lid at the same time.
3. Open the battery cover.
Unlock indicator: Double flashing of the turn signal
Replacing the battery

Lock indicator: Single flashing of the turn signal
lights.
The indicator light in the driver's door will flash for
about 2 seconds in quick succession after the vehicle
is locked, then regularly at longer intervals.
If none of the doors or the boot lid is opened
within 45 seconds of unlocking, the vehicle
automatically locks again.
1. Remove the battery.

2. Press any button on the remote key to reset the
key.

3. Insert the new battery.

4. Fit the battery cover and press until it clicks into
place.

WARNING
Risk of death!
Locking/unlocking using the central locking button
If the battery is swallowed, serious injuries or
death due to chemical burns to the digestive tract
could result.
— To lock, press the button in the driver’s door.
The symbol in the button lights up when it is
locked.
Always keep children away from the vehicle key
and batteries.

— To unlocking, press the button in the driver’s
door.
Obtain medical attention immediately if the
battery is swallowed.

The button locks/unlocks all the doors and the boot
lid.
