Introduction

Connecting a smartphone by cable
Depending on the country and vehicle equip-
ment, you can connect your smartphone wire-
lessly to the MMI or also via cable and the smart-
phone interface. You can operate certain content
and functions of your smartphone in an opti-
mised format via the MMI.
Important: The vehicle must be stationary and
switched on. Your iPhone 6s or later must have
the latest operating system, or your smartphone
with Android Auto app must have operating sys-
tem Android 8.0 or higher.
If the smartphone you have connected has a voice
control feature, you can control your smartphone
using the external voice control system.

Connect your smartphone to the smartphone
interface using the USB interface in the cen-
tre console. Use a certified USB-C cable or certi-
fied adapter.

smartphone.

Make sure that Apple CarPlay or Android Auto
System limits of the smartphone interface
(depending on your smartphone) is set to use
the device after connecting.
The smartphone interface is subject to system
limits. We regret that it is not possible to guar-
antee compatibility for all types of smartphone.
The availability or the functions you can use de-
pend on a number of factors including:
