Calling up the search function
Picture format
Important: The selected source must support the
search function.
Audi recommends using the Auto setting for the
picture format. You will be shown a preview of
the setting when you press on one of the picture
format options. Press OK to use the picture for-
mat selected.

Applies to MMI: On the home screen, select ME-
DIA > Search.
Entries containing the search terms entered will
be displayed in the list of results. Every result is
marked with the symbol of a category from the
media centre ðpage 290.
The following table provides an overview of the
picture formats. The possible picture formats de-
pend on the source being played or the video file.
Picture for-
Description
mat
You can search in the following categories:
– Artists
– Albums
– Tracks
– Genres
– Videos
The MMI detects the picture for-
mat of the source and displays the
picture using the best possible
Auto
width-to-height ratio.
The picture is set to the relevant
4:3,
16:9,
Cinema
format. Select one of these options
if the picture shown with Auto se-
lected is distorted, partially cut off
or not in focus.
Options and settings
Options
Certain functions and settings may be available
depending on the vehicle equipment, the selec-
ted source, the mobile device connected and the
type of connection.
The picture is enlarged to fill the
entire display.
Zoom
The picture is displayed using the
picture ratio of the source format.
Select this option if the picture
shown with Auto selected is distor-
ted, partially cut off or not in focus.

Settings
The track currently playing is briefly analysed
(e.g. by artist, genre, mood, time) so that the
system can display a smart playlist with similar
tracks.

You can set the language manually. It depends on
the video DVD whether different languages and
audio formats are available.
Additional online data
Important: The MMI must be connected to the in-

data plan is required in some countries
