Triggering the Emergency Stop
Assistant

In some regions, this function may not be
completely available or not available at all.

The Emergency Stop Assistant can also be
triggered via voice input.
Principle
Additional information:
If the driver can no longer drive the vehicle
safely, the Emergency Stop Assistant helps to
bring the vehicle to a safe standstill.

on the control display.

The Emergency Stop Assistant is triggered au-
tomatically.
The following is performed automatically when
the Emergency Stop Assistant is triggered:

When the system is triggered, the vehicle is
brought to a standstill in its own lane by use of
lane keeping.

The system takes over vehicle handling un-
til the vehicle comes to a standstill.

An emergency call is triggered when sta-
tionary, depending on vehicle equipment.

The system cannot serve as a substitute for
the driver’s personal judgment in assessing
one's physical state. An increasing lack of
