The remote control for the program-  
mable heating system includes the  
following buttons and display infor-  
mation:  
1. Menu function scroll buttons.  
2. Function symbols: clock,  
temperature, operating  
duration, programmed time,  
heater operation, heater  
control.  
3. Digital display of: time,  
temperature, operating  
duration, programmed time or  
heating level.  
4. Off button.  
5. On button.  
Press buttons 1 repeatedly to bring  
up the functions.  
The rst press of the right or left  
button displays the time.  
The programmable heating sys-  
tem operates independently of the  
engine.  
With the engine off, it is used to  
preheat the engine cooling system  
so as to have an optimum engine  
operating temperature on starting.  
The programmable heating system  
is started using a long-range remote  
control. It can be started immediately  
or programmed to start later.  
The left button then gives access  
to the programming time, then the  
heating level (C1 to C5).  
The right button gives access to  
the cabin temperature, then the  
operating duration of the heater  
where the system is to be started  
immediately.  
Information displayed in the remote  
control screen  
Information on the cabin tempe-  
rature is only available with the  
engine off.  
In the event of a malfunction of  
the programmable heating sys-  
tem, contact a CITROËN dealer  
or a qualied workshop.

After displaying the time, using  
buttons 1, within 10 seconds press  
buttons 4 and 5 simultaneously.  
Press button 5 (ON) until the "OK"  
messa e appears.  
When the signal has been received,  
the "OK" message is displayed  
together with the operating duration.  
Press buttons 1 to display the ope-  
rating duration.  
This symbol is displayed.  
This symbol ashes.  
After displaying the operating  
duration, within 10 seconds press  
buttons 4 and 5 simultaneously.  
The heater starts and this  
symbol is displayed.  
Set the time using buttons 1. Press  
buttons 4 and 5 simultaneously to  
store the setting.  
To stop operation, press button 4  
(OFF) until the "OK"  
This symbol ashes.

(adjustment in steps of 10 mins up  
to a maximum of 30 mins).

received. Go to a different location  
and then repeat the procedure.

You should programme your depar-  
ture time so that the system can  
automatically calculate the opti-  
mum start time for the heater.  
After displaying the programme time  
using buttons 1, press button 5 (ON)  
until the "OK" message appears.  
Press button 5 (ON).  
The "HTM" symbol stays on.

received, the "OK" messa e  
is displayed together with the  
"HTM" symbol.  
Modication of the heating  
level  
The system offers 5 levels of heat-  
ing (C1, the lowest level, to C5, the  
highest level).  
This symbol is displayed  
when the heater starts.  
After displaying the heating level  
using buttons 1, press buttons 4  
and 5 simultaneously.  
The letter "C" ashes.  
Adjust the level of heating using  
buttons 1  
Press buttons 4 and 5 simultane-  
ously to store the level setting cho-  
sen. The letter "C" is displayed  
(constant).

Programming your  
departure time  
Press buttons 1 to display the pro-  
To cancel a programme, press but-  
ton 4 (OFF) until the "OK" messa e  
gramme time.  
This symbol is displayed.  
The "HTM" symbol goes off.  
After displaying the programme  
time, within 10 seconds press but-  
tons 4 and 5 simultaneously.  
The factory settings are replaced  
by the new values entered. The  
times programmed are memorised  
until the next modication.  
When the departure time is acti-  
vated, it is not possible to modify  
the heating level. The departure  
time should rst be deactivated.  
If the "FAIL" messa e appears  
during these operations, this indi-  
cates that the signal was not  
received.  
Go to a different location and then  
repeat the procedure.  
This symbol ashes.  
Adjust the time by pressing buttons 1  
and press buttons 4 and 5 simultane-  
ously to store the setting.  
This symbol is displayed (constant).

Re-initialisation of the  
remote control

If the battery is disconnected or  
replaced, the remote control must  
be re-initialised.  
Always switch off the program-  
mable heating while refuelling in  
order to avoid the risk of re or  
explosion.  
After switching on, within ve sec-  
onds press button 4 (OFF) for  
1 second.  
To avoid the risk of intoxication  
or asphyxiation, the program-  
mable heating should not be  
used, even for a short time, in  
an enclosed space such as a  
garage, or workshop without  
exhaust gas extraction.  
Do not park the vehicle over  
inammable materials (dry grass,  
dead leaves, papers…), as there  
is a risk of re.  
If the operation is successful, the  
"OK" message appears in the  
remote control screen.  
If not, the "FAIL" messa e appears.  
Repeat the procedure.  
As a secondary advantage, use of  
your programmable heating sys-  
tem allows it to be used to pre-heat  
the passenger compartment.  
Replacing the battery  
The remote control is powered  
by a 6V-28L battery cell, which is  
included.  
Information appears on the screen  
when this battery should be replaced.  
Unclip the casing and replace the  
battery.  
The remote control must then be  
re-initialised, as described on this  
The programmable heating sys-  
tem is supplied by the vehicle’s  
fuel tank. Before using it, ensure  
that there is sufcient fuel in the  
tank. If the low fuel warning lamp  
is on we strongly recommend  
that you do not programme the  
heating to come on.  
Do not discard old batteries; take  
them to an approved recycling  
point.
