Practical Information -> Changing a wheel for Your Citroen Ds3 SUV Second Generation (2018-2025)

Checking / adjusting tyre pressures
You can also use the compressor, without
injecting sealant, to check and if necessary
adjust the tyre pressures
F
F
F
Place the switch in the "O" position.
Remove the kit.
F
F
F
F
Check that the compressor switch is at
the "O" position.
Uncoil fully the electric cable, stowed under
the compressor.
Connect the compressor's plug to the
vehicle's 12 V socket.
Switch on the ignition.
Drive immediately for approximately
three miles (five kilometres), at reduced
speed (between 15 and 35 mph (20 and
60 km/h)), to plug the puncture.
Stop to check the repair and the tyre
pressure using the kit.
F
F
F
Remove the valve cap from the tyre and
place it in a clean area.
Uncoil the pipe stowed under the
compressor.
Screw the pipe onto the valve and tighten
firmly.

Tyre under-inflation
detection
After repair of the tyre, the warning
lamp will remain on until the system is
reinitialised.
For more information, refer to the
"Under-inflation detection" section.
F
Start the compressor by placing the switch
at the "I" position and adjust the pressure
to the value shown on the vehicle's tyre
pressure label.
To deflate: press the black button on the
compressor pipe, at the valve connector.
Once the correct pressure is reached, put
the switch to the "O" position.
Should the pressure of one or more
tyres be adjusted, it is necessary to
reinitialise the under-inflation detection
system.
Refer to the "Under-inflation detection"
section.

Remove the kit then stow it.
Changing a wheel
Procedure for changing a faulty wheel for the spare wheel using the tools provided with the vehicle.
Access to the tools
Wheel with trim
When removing the wheel, first
detach the trim using the wheelbrace 1
pulling at the valve passage hole.
When refitting the wheel, refit the
trim starting by placing its cut-out at the
valve and press around its edge with
the palm of your hand.
The tools are installed in the boot under the
floor.
To gain access to them:
List of tools
1. Wheelbrace.
For removing the wheel trim and removing
the wheel fixing bolts.
2. Jack with integral handle.
For raising the vehicle.
3. "Bolt cover" tool.
All of these tools are specific to your
vehicle. Do not use them for other
purposes.
F
F
open the boot,
lift the boot carpet by pulling the strap
upwards,
Never use a jack other than the
one listed for the vehicle by the
manufacturer. If the vehicle does not
have one, contact a CITROËN dealer
or a qualified workshop to obtain a jack
specified by the manufacturer.
F
F
remove the polystyrene storage box,
unclip and remove the box containing the
tools.
For removing the bolt protectors (covers)
on alloy wheels.
4. Socket for the security wheel bolts (located
in the glove box).
For adapting the wheelbrace to the special
security wheel bolts (if your vehicle is fitted
with them)

Practical information
Access to the spare wheel
The spare wheel is installed in the boot under
the floor.
According to country, you will have either a
"space saver" spare wheel or a temporary
puncture repair kit.
Taking out the wheel
Fitting the "space-saver"
type spare wheel
F
F
Unscrew the yellow central bolt.
Raise the spare wheel towards you from
the rear.
If your vehicle is fitted with alloy
wheels, it is normal to notice, when
tightening the bolts on fitting, that the
washers do not come into contact with
the "space-saver" type spare wheel.
The wheel is secured by the conical
contact surface of each bolt.
F
Take the wheel out of the boot.
For access to it, refer to the "Access to the
tools" section.
Putting the wheel back in place
F
F
Put the wheel back in its housing.
Unscrew the yellow central bolt by a few
turns then place it in the centre of the
wheel.
Tighten fully until the central bolt clicks to
retain the wheel correctly.
F
F
F
Put the box back in place in the centre of
the wheel and clip it.
Put the polystyrene storage box back in
place.
Refit the boot floor carpet by lightly folding
it in the middle (refer to the "Boot fittings"
section).
On vehicles equipped with a "space-
saver" type spare wheel, the punctured
wheel can be stowed in place of the
"space-saver" wheel; however the boot
floor will not then be flat.

Practical information
Removing a wheel
Parking the vehicle
Immobilise the vehicle where it does
not block traffic: the ground must be
level, stable and not slippery.
Apply the parking brake, switch off the
ignition and engage first gear* to lock
the wheels.
If necessary, place a chock under the
wheel diagonally opposite the wheel to
be changed.
It is imperative that you ensure that the
occupants get out of the vehicle and
wait where they are safe.
Never go underneath a vehicle raised
using a jack; use an axle stand.
List of operations
Ensure that the jack is stable. If the
ground is slippery or loose, the jack
could slip or drop - Risk of injury!
Take care to position the jack only at
one of the jacking points A or B under
the vehicle, ensuring that the vehicle's
contact area is well centred on the
head of the jack. Otherwise, there is a
risk of damage to the vehicle and/or the
jack might drop - Risk of injury!
F
F
F
Remove the chromed bolt cover from each
of the bolts using the tool 3 (alloy wheels
only).
Fit the socket 4 on the wheelbrace 1 to
slacken the security bolt (if your vehicle is
fitted with them).
Slacken the other bolts using the
wheelbrace 1 only.
* position R for an electronic gearbox, P for an
automatic gearbox.
F
Position the foot of the jack 2 on the ground
and ensure that it is directly below the
front A or rear B jacking point provided on
the underbody, whichever is closest to the
wheel to be changed.
On vehicles fitted with sill finishers, the
jacking location is indicated by a marking
on the finisher. The jack must be placed
centrally in line with this marking, at the
jacking point located behind the finisher
and not on the plastic finisher itself.
F
F
Extend the jack 2 until its head comes into
contact with the jacking point A or B used.
The contact area A or B on the vehicle
must be engaged with the central part of
the head of the jack.
Raise the vehicle until there is sufficient
space between the wheel and the ground
so that the spare (not punctured) wheel can
then be fitted without difficulty.
F
F
Remove the bolts and store them in a clean
place.
Remove the wheel.
