PARKING SENSORS
16
• These detect and inform the driver, through an intermittent acoustic signal,
about the presence of obstacles behind the car when REVERSE is engaged. As the
obstacle behind the vehicle gets closer to the car, the acoustic signal
becomes more frequent. The acoustic signal becomes continuous when the
distance separating the car from the obstacle is less than about 30 cm.
Operation with a trailer
• Sensor operation is automatically deactivated when the trailer’s electrical
cable plug is inserted.
START&STOP SYSTEM
17
• The Start&Stop device automatically stops the engine each time the vehicle is
stationary and starts it again when the driver wants to move off.
• This improves the efficiency of the vehicle by reducing fuel consumption, the
emission of harmful gases and noise pollution.
• The system activates every time the car is started.
OPERATING MODES
Stopping the engine
• With manual gearbox: when the vehicle is stationary, the engine stops with the
gearbox in neutral and the clutch pedal released.
• With robotised gearbox: the engine stops if the vehicle is at a standstill and
the brake pedal is pressed. This condition can be maintained even if the brake
pedal is not depressed, if the gear lever is in position N.
NOTE: the engine can only be stopped automatically over about 10 km/h, to
prevent the engine from being repeatedly stopped when driving at walking pace.
• The warning light
on the instrument panel indicates that the engine has
stopped, depending on the trim level.
Restarting the engine
• With normal gearbox: press the clutch pedal to allow the engine to be
restarted.
• With robotised gearbox: if the gear lever is in position N, bring it to any
gear position, otherwise release the brake pedal or move the gear lever to +,
– or R.
