that it is no longer considered reliable
by the system. Upon recognition of a
new sign, the TSR symbol will become
coloured again.
Therefore, it can provide the implicit
limits (e.g. the general speed limit on
motorways) and to supplement with
maps the limitations of recognition of
road signs on the camera alone.
The navigator/Connected Services tells
the system of the unit of measurement
in force in the country in which
you are travelling and converts the
value consistently with the unit of
measurement selected by the user.
In this way, the speed limitation
suggested by the ISA system or the
speed offered by the IACC system will
always be correct, regardless of the
unit of measurement chosen by the
driver.
New limit notice setting
The system alerts the driver when
the speed limit changes on the road
ahead by means of a display on the
instrument cluster.
Acting on the Uconnect™ system, the
following settings can be chosen: "Off",
"Visual" and "Visual + Acoustic".
WARNING In the absence of a
navigator/Connected Services, the
system cannot recognise the unit of
measurement of the country you are
travelling in, but only the numerical
value of the road sign encountered
along the road. The speed limit
suggested and offered to Intelligent
Speed Assist (ISA) and Intelligent
Adaptive Cruise Control (IACC) systems
(where active) is therefore intended
according to the unit of measurement
set by the user on the instrument
panel display. Therefore, for the
ISA and the IACC to be of practical
help in complying with the limits in
force, the driver must set the unit of
measurement consistent with the
country in which they are travelling.
WARNING The selected setting
remains active each time the motor is
started.
QUICK TRAFFIC SIGN
RECOGNITION SYSTEM
ACOUSTIC WARNING
DEACTIVATION
The system can display the shape of
the signs consistently with the current
shape of the country in which you are
travelling.
Hold the "OK" button pressed on
the control on left-hand steering
wheel button in the "Driver Assist"
menu (or "Settings" menu) on the
instrument panel display to quickly
deactivate the acoustic warning of the
Traffic Sign Recognition system (for
versions/markets, where provided) until
the next time the motor is started.
When the "OK" button is pressed for a
long time, the icon and the displayed
instruction line fig. 177 disappear and
a graphic bar indicating the progress is
displayed. When the graphic bar is full,
the setting is complete.
Using the information contained in
the navigator/Connected Services,
the system can recognise motorway,
urban and non-urban scenarios and
to use the limits provided by the
navigator/Connected Services to
provide the most plausibly accurate
speed limit. In addition, the system can
recognise turns and provide, where
necessary, the limit detected by the
navigator/Connected Services in place
of that recognised by the camera.
With Uconnect™ with navigation
system/Connected Services
When the navigator/Connected
Services is present, the TSR system
integrates the detections made by the
camera with the information provided
by the navigation system/Connected
Services.
