Operation of the rear parking
assist system
Non-operational conditions of
rear parking assist system
• When an object is 120 cm (47 in.)
to 61 cm (24 in.) from the rear
bumper: Buzzer beeps intermit-
tently.
Operation condition
The rear parking assist system
may not operate normally when:
• This system will activate when
backing up with the engine run-
ning.
• Moisture is frozen to the sensor.
• When an object is 60 cm (24 in.) to
31 cm (12 in.) from the rear
bumper: Buzzer sounds two beeps
intermittently.
• The sensor is covered or stained
with foreign matter, such as snow
or water, or the sensor cover is
blocked.
• Sensing distance when backing up
is approximately 120 cm (47 in.)
when you are driving less than 10
km/h (6 mph).
• When an object is within 30 cm (12
in.) of the rear bumper: Buzzer
sounds continuously.
• When more than two objects are
sensed at the same time, the clos-
est one will be recognized first.
There is a possibility of a parking
assist system malfunction when:
• Driving on uneven road surfaces
such as unpaved roads, gravel,
bumps, or gradient.
If the audible warning does not
sound or if the buzzer sounds inter-
mittently when shifting into
(Reverse) position, this may indicate
a malfunction with the Parking Assist
System. If this occurs, we recom-
mend that your vehicle be checked
by an authorized HYUNDAI dealer
as soon as possible.
