For the most effective protection while
the vehicle is in motion, the seatback
should be upright. Always sit well back
in the seat and adjust the seat belt
properly. (See "Seat belts" later in this
screen.)

Do not drive and/or ride in the vehicle
Turn either dial to adjust the angle and height of
the seat cushion to the desired position.
Foꢁard and bacꢂard:
with the seatback reclined. This can be
dangerous. The shoulder belt will not be
properly against the body. In an acci-
dent, you and your passengers could be
thrown into the shoulder belt and re-
ceive neck or other serious injuries. You
and your passengers could also slide
under the lap belt and receive serious
injuries.

WARNING:
Pull the lever up ꢀ while you slide the seat
forward or backward to the desired position.
Release the lever to lock the seat in position.

Do not adjust the driver's seat while
driving. The seat may move suddenly
and could cause loss of control of the
vehicle.
CAUTION:
Reclining:
When adjusting the seat positions, be sure
not to contact any moving paꢀs to avoid
possible injuries and/or damages.
To recline the seatback, pull the lever up ® and
lean back. To bring the seatback forward again,
pull the lever and move your body forward. The
seatback will move forward.

After adjustment, check to make sure
the seat is securely locked.
The seatbackshould not be reclined any
more than needed for comfort. Seat
belts are most effective when the pas-
senger sits well back and straight up in
the seat. If the seat is reclined, the risk
