Lighting and visibility -> Peugeot Pixel LED for Your Peugeot 5008 SUV Third Generation (2024-2025)

Lighting and visibility
The Peugeot Pixel LED headlamps incorporate
three LED modules:
– a "Pixel" module that varies the number of
LEDs lit and their intensity according to driving
conditions. This module manages the light flows
vertically and horizontally.
-two "Low beam" modules whose intensity
varies with the Adaptive Frontlight System mode
selected.
All these LED modules contribute to the lighting
in the low beam and high beam positions.
This system automatically adapts the main beam
according to the driving conditions, so that
optimum illumination is maintained for the driver,
without causing a nuisance to other road users.
independent of the Adaptive Frontlight System
function.
This mode automatically adapts to the speed
This mode is activated if the vehicle is moving at
a speed between 0 and 43 mph (70 km/h) and
the rear foglamps are on.Beyond 43 mph (70
km/h), the function switches to "Motorway" mode
even if the rear foglamps are activated.
and angle of the steering wheel.
Beyond 70 mph (110 km/h), the power and
range of the lighting is maximised to best
illuminate the length and width of the roadway.
"Motorway" mode
Static bending lighting
In a bend situation, the light beam provides an
additional illumination of the road to the right or
left when the vehicle speed is 43 mph (70 km/h)
or less.
The system is triggered by curve radius
thresholds and vehicle speed.
The phases of increasing and decreasing light
intensity are carried out gradually.
At any time, this lighting mode can be triggered
by the Automatic headlamp dipping function
independent of the Adaptive Frontlight System
function.
This mode automatically adapts to the speed
and angle of the steering wheel.
Beyond 55 mph (90 km/h), the power and range
of the lighting is maximised to best illuminate the
length and width of the roadway.
The driver remains responsible for the
vehicle's lighting, its correct use in the
prevailing light, visibility and traffic conditions,
and for compliance with driving and vehicle
regulations.
Digital bending lighting
In a bend situation, the light beam moves around
the curve to match the main direction of the
driver's eyes, regardless of the vehicle speed
and the bend radius.
The lateral intensities of the low beam are
shifted in the appropriate direction of the curve.
The system activates the filled pixel elements to
increase/extend the light beam area.
The system is active from 28 mph (45
km/h) and deactivates below 22 mph (35
km/h).
"Boost motorway" mode
Activation/Deactivation
Peugeot Pixel LED
Place the ring of the lighting control stalk in
the “AUTO” position.
For more information, refer to
the General recommendations for
automatic lighting systems.
This indicator lamp comes on in the
instrument panel.
The Peugeot Pixel LED system has the Adaptive
Frontlight System function and also manages
the high beam in conjunction with the Automatic
headlamp dipping function.
At any time, this lighting mode can be triggered
by the Automatic headlamp dipping function
It is configured in the Settings > Ve-
hicle touch screen application.

Lighting and visibility
Exiting an illuminated area
Followed vehicle
The state of the system is stored when the
ignition is switched off.
The lamp segments gradually light up from the
inside to the outside of the vehicle to restore the
main beams.

When deactivated, the lighting system changes
to "Automatic illumination of lamps" mode.
Highway restriction
It is recommended that you deactivate the
function in foggy or snowy conditions or in
case of heavy mist.
The function temporarily is deactivated when
the system detects thick fog or when the
foglamps are switched on manually. This is
signalled by the indicator lamp going off on
the instrument panel.
The system cannot detect the presence of
oncoming vehicles on a roadway separated by
a low wall or safety rail.
Therefore, the system reduces the light beam on
the side of the central separation in order not to
dazzle the driver of an oncoming vehicle.
In a bend situation, the restriction angle is
adjusted according to the curve radius.
When approaching a vehicle from behind, only
those lamp segments directed at the followed
vehicle go off, thereby creating a "tunnel" so as
not to dazzle its driver.
Anti-glare for traffic signs
Oncoming vehicle
Operation
Some traffic signs may be more dazzling to
the driver due to the light reflection of LED
headlamps.
The system can modulate the light intensity
sent to traffic signs and thus reduce the light
reflection to avoid driver glare.
Using a camera, the system detects the driving
conditions (brightness, lights from oncoming or
followed vehicles, road turns) and adapts the
beams of the main headlamps accordingly.
The modules that make up the main beams
switch on and off gradually, segment by
segment, depending on the driving conditions
detected.
High beam boost
The high beam amplification provides an
additional illumination in the centre of the high
beam to improve the light distribution when
driving at higher speeds.
When an oncoming vehicle approaches, only
those lamp segments directed at this vehicle
go off, thereby creating a "tunnel" during the
duration of the approach.
Nominal main beam lighting is restored as soon
as the vehicle is no longer detected by the
system.
Pause
If the system is selected but the dis-
play on the instrument panel and the
alerts are not available, the indicator
lamp comes on in grey.
Entering an illuminated area
Pause If the situation requires a change of
headlamp beam, the driver can take over at any
time.
At the entrance to an illuminated area (e.g. a
town), the lamp segments are gradually switched
off from the outside to the inside of the vehicle to
switch to the dipped beams.
Switch the dipped/main beam headlamps
manually to pause the function.
The lighting system changes to "Automatic
illumination of lamps" mode.
