OPENING AND CLOSING THE DOORS

Lights-on reminder buzzer

If you have switched off the ignition

and left the lights switched on a re-

minder buzzer will sound when a door

is opened.

Door/tailgate open buzzer

If a door or the tailgate is open or not

properly closed, as soon as the vehi-

cle reaches 4 mph (7 km/h), a warning

light appears on the instrument panel

accompanied by the message ‘Tailgate

open’ or ‘Doors open’ depending on the

vehicle.

Card reminder buzzer

A beep will let you know if you have left

the card in the reader when you open

the driver’s door, and the ‘Remove card’

message will appear on the instrument

panel.

After the vehicle has been unlocked

using the remote control unit, the key or

the RENAULT card, pull handle 1.

If the battery has been dis-

connected, the rear central

door locking must be reacti-

vated by pressing switch 3.

Locking is active while the warning

light is on.

Safety of rear occupants

The driver can inhibit operation of

the rear electric windows and doors

by pressing switch 3.

Driver’s responsibility

Never leave your vehicle with the

key in the ignition or the RENAULT

card inside if there is a child (or

animal) in the vehicle. With the key

in the ignition it would be possible

to operate the electric windows and

there is a risk that a child or animal

may be seriously injured (by

trapping his or her neck, arm, hand,

etc.). If something gets trapped,

reverse the direction of travel as

soon as possible by pressing the

relevant switch. Risk of injury.

Other cases

Lower lever 4 and check from the inside

that the doors are securely locked, to

prevent the rear doors being opened

from the inside.

Press switch 3 to inhibit operation of

the rear electric windows and opening

of the rear doors from the inside. The

indicator light in the switch lights up.

To unlock the rear doors, lift lever 4 and

check from the inside that the doors are

properly unlocked.

Depending on the vehicle,

in the event of a fault:

– a beep sounds;

– a message is displayed on the in-

strument panel;

– the integrated indicator does not

light up.

Locking/unlocking from the

outside

This is done using the RENAULTremote

control unit: refer to the information on

“Key/radio frequency remote control:

general information” and “RENAULT

card: general information”.

In some cases, the key/radio frequency

remote control and the RENAULT card

may not work:

– vehicle located in a zone of high

electromagnetic radiation;

– use of appliances operating on the

same frequency as the card (mobile

– depending on the vehicle, use of

remote control key 1, the emergency

key integrated in the card (or sepa-

rate 3) for the front left-hand door

only;

phone, etc.);

Insert the key into lock 2 then lock or

unlock.

– when the RENAULT card battery is

drained, flat battery, etc.

There are four options:

– use of the key/remote control unit or

the RENAULT card near to the left-

hand door mirror;

– manual locking of each door (refer to

the following pages);

– use of the interior door locking/un-

locking control (refer to the following

pages).

Use of emergency key 4 integrated

into the RENAULT card

Insert the end of emergency key 4 into

hole 5.

With the door open, turn screw 6 using

key 4 and close the door again. This

means that the doors are then locked

from the outside.

The doors can only be opened from the

inside using the interior handles or from

the outside using the key for the front

left-hand door.

Move it upwards to remove cover A.

Using the door locking/unlocking in-

terior control.

With the ignition off and a front door

open, press switch 7 for more than five

seconds.

Switch 7 has an integrated indicator

light which shows whether or not the

doors are locked:

– the light is on when the doors and

tailgate are locked;

Make sure you have your key or

RENAULT card with you before leaving

your vehicle.

– the light goes out when the doors

and tailgate are unlocked.

When you lock the doors, the indicator

light remains lit for approximately one

minute then goes out.

When the door is closed, all the doors

and the tailgate will be locked.

Unlocking from outside the vehicle is

only possible with the key, RENAULT

card or emergency key.

inside: switch 7

This simultaneously controls the open-

ing elements (doors and tailgate) and

the fuel filler flap.

Driver’s responsibility

Never leave your vehicle

with the key or RENAULT

card inside.

To lock the vehicle leaving a door

open (e.g. when transporting some-

thing in the luggage compartment

which prevents it from closing),

or when the vehicle is located in a

zone where there is a high level of

electromagnetic radiation, or if the

key or RENAULT card fails: with the

ignition off, press switch 7 for more

than five seconds.

If a door is open or not properly closed,

the doors lock and then quickly unlock.

If you decide to keep the doors

locked whilst driving, remember that

it may be more difficult for those as-

sisting you to gain access to your

vehicle in the event of an emer-

gency.
