Trip computer and warning

system

This displays the following information

on instrument panel display A or B (po-

sition varies according to vehicle):

– Information messages (journey pa-

rameters, etc.);

– Operating fault messages (generally

^{linked to the warning light}©);

– Warning messages (linked to the

®warning light).

– estimated range,

– distance travelled.

– You may also notice that the average

fuel consumption increases when the

vehicle is stationary and the engine

idling.

Interpreting some of the

values displayed after

resetting

The values showing average fuel con-

sumption, range and average speed

will become more stable and reliable

the further you travel after pressing the

reset button.

This is normal, since the computer

takes account of fuel used during

idling.

Automatic resetting of the

journey parameters

For the first few miles after pressing the

reset key you may notice:

Resetting occurs automatically when

the maximum value of any of the pa-

rameters is exceeded.

– that the range increases as you

travel.

This is normal, as average fuel con-

sumption may decrease when:

With the display set to “trip mileage re-

corder”, press and hold button 1 or 2, or

press and hold buttons 1 and 2 simul-

taneously.

– the vehicle stops accelerating;

– the engine reaches its operat-

ing temperature (if the engine

was cold when reset key was

pressed);

– you drive from an urban area onto

the open road.

With the display set to one of the jour-

ney parameters, press and hold but-

ton 1 or 2, or the two buttons simulta-

neously.

Average fuel consumption since the last reset.

This value is displayed after driving 400 metres and takes into account the distance

travelled and the fuel used since the last time the reset button was pressed.

Current fuel consumption

This value is displayed after a speed of approximately 18 mph (30 km/h) is

reached.

Estimated range with remaining fuel

This range takes into account the average fuel consumption since the last time the

reset button was pressed.

The value is displayed after driving 400 metres. A few minutes after the low fuel level

warning light has come on, the estimated range is no longer displayed.

Distance travelled since the last reset.

Average speed since the last reset.

The value is displayed after driving 400 metres.

c) Distance before service

Distance remaining until the next service.

There are several scenarios:

– remaining mileage less than 900 miles (1,500 km) or next service due within

two months. When the display selected is “mileage before service”, the symbol

9 appears on display A. The message “Service due” appears on display B.

– mileage before service equal to 0 miles/km or date of serviced reached. When

^{the display selected is “mileage before service”, the symbol}9 flashes on dis-

^{play A accompanied by warning light}©. The message “Service vehicle”

^{appears on display B accompanied by symbol}Êand warning light ©.

Note: depending on the vehicle, the distance before a service changes according to driving style (frequent driving at low speeds,

door-to-door journeys, extensive use at idle speed etc.). The distance remaining until the next service can therefore be less than

the actual distance remaining.

Resetting the display after servicing

The mileage before oil change/service must only be reset after a service which complies with the recommendations in the

Maintenance Service Booklet.

If you decide to change the oil more frequently, do not reset this data each time the oil is changed. This prevents the replacement

interval from being exceeded for other parts included in the maintenance schedule.

To reset the mileage before an oil change/service, press and hold one of the display reset buttons for approximately 10 seconds

until the display shows the mileage permanently.

Successive display:

– information messages (depending on vehicle: automatic headlights, etc.),

– of operating fault messages (check the injection system, etc.).

Information messages

Warning messages

These can help either in the vehi-

cle starting phase, or give information

about a selection or a driving status.

They require you to stop immediately

(as soon as traffic conditions allow) and

call your RENAULT Dealer.

Examples of information messages are

Operating fault messages

You should immediately go to your

RENAULT Dealer for work to be carried

out on your vehicle.

Note: the messages appear on the dis-

play either individually or alternately

(when there are several messages to

be displayed), and may be accompa-

nied by a warning light and/or a beep.

These messages appear with the
