Touch panel for childproof lock.
The electric childproof lock stops the doors from being opened and the electric windows in the doors from being operated.
Switching the electric childproof lock on and off
—Switching on: press the touch panel → Fig. 1 1 .
—Switching off: press the touch panel again.
The indicator lamp in the touch control lights up yellow when the childproof lock is active → Fig. 1 1 .
Error message on Infotainment system or on instrument cluster display
If the electric childproof lock is operated and a rear door is opened at the same time, the electric childproof lock cannot be switched on
or off at this door.
An error message is shown on the Infotainment system or on the instrument cluster display.
1. Press the button for the electric childproof lock again in order to synchronise the status of the rear doors.
2. If the error message does not disappear, have the vehicle checked by a suitably qualified workshop. Volkswagen recommends
using an authorised Volkswagen repairer.
WARNING
When the electric childproof lock is activated, the door cannot be opened from the inside. This may mean that people lock
themselves in the vehicle. In an emergency, they may not be able to leave the vehicle independently or to help themselves.
● Never leave children or people requiring assistance alone in the vehicle when the doors are locked.
