not work in all external devices. Volkswagen as-  
sumes no liability for their proper function.  
— Connect the mobile device to the Infotainment  
via a USB cable or browse and connect to a wire-  
less network.  
— Tap the icon of the supported connection.  
The range of available applications and their func-  
tionality is dependent on the Infotainment model,  
vehicle and region.

Telephone operation  
— Two telephones - Select the telephone to be re-  
placed.  
Enter telephone number  
— Enter the phone number using the numeric key-  
pad in the Phone menu.  
— To switch between the main telephone and the  
additional telephone, tap on Replace in the Phone  
menu.  
The displayed numeric keypad can also be  
used for searching for contacts.  
For example, if you enter 32, the unit will display  
contacts with the letter combination DA, FA, EB, etc.

Connect the telephone to Infotainment  
— Find available Bluetooth® devices on the phone.  
— Select the Infotainment Bluetooth® unit.

After connecting the phone to the Infotainment, the

Ringtone  
Some phones do not allow the use of the telephone  
ringtone; instead, the Infotainment ringtone is used.  
SmartLink offers the ability to display and operate  
certified applications from a connected mobile de-  
vice in the Infotainment screen.  
— To set the Infotainment ringtone in the menu,  
tap on option System Phone Internal ringtones and se-  
lect the ringtone.  
Certification may be conditional upon the use of the  
latest update to the particular SmartLink application.  
Applications include, for example, apps for route  
guidance, telephoning, listening to music, etc.  
Wi-Fi  
Mobile devices are connected via a USB cable or Wi-  
Fi.
