Tread wear indicators
For uniform wear on all tyres, we recommend that
you change the wheels every 10,000 km according
to the schedule.
Advice for tyre assembly
— With directional tires, the correct direction of ro-
tation must be observed The direction of rotation
of the tyres is marked by arrows on the wall of
the tyre. The directional tread pattern usually ex-
ists on winter and all-season tyres.
— Always replace the tyres by the axle.
Wear indicators are located in the profile of the
tyres that display the permissible minimum tread
depth.
Additional information
Only fit radial tyres of the same type, size (rolling
circumference) and the same tread pattern on one
axle.
Markings on the walls of the tyres with the letters
TWI or other symbols (e.g. ) indicate the position
of the wear indicators.
Approved tyre sizes are listed in the technical vehicle
documentation.
A tyre is to be regarded as worn out when this wear
indicator is flush with the tread.
