Front seats
Introduction to the topic
● In the case of occupants of rear seats, the
risk of serious injury increases if they are
not seated upright, as the seat belts will not
be correctly positioned.
The adjustment options for the front seats are
described below. Always make sure that the
seats are correctly adjusted → page 54.
WARNING
Incorrect seat adjustment can lead to accidents
and serious injuries.
WARNING
Before setting off, always adjust the front
seats correctly and ensure that all other
occupants are wearing their seat belts
correctly.
● Only adjust the seats when the vehicle is at
a standstill, otherwise the seats may move
unexpectedly while driving and you could
lose control of the vehicle. In addition, the
adjustment will result in an incorrect
position.
● The passenger seat shall be moved as far
back as possible.
● The driver's seat shall be adjusted so that
there is a minimum distance of 25 cm
between the thorax and the centre of the
steering wheel. The seat shall be adjusted
longitudinally so that the driver can fully
depress the pedals with his knees slightly
bent and that there is a distance of at least
10 cm between the knee area and the
dashboard. If, due to physical conditions, it
is not possible to maintain a distance of at
least 10 cm between the knee area and
the instrument panel, the rider shall not
If you need to close this distance, go to a
specialised workshop.
● Adjust the front seats vertically,
longitudinally and in inclination only when
there is no one in the adjustment area of
the front seats.
● Do not allow any objects to obstruct the
adjustment area of the seats.
● Adjust the rear seats fore and aft only
when there is no one in the adjustment area
of the rear seats.
● Do not allow the adjustment and locking
areas of the seats to become dirty.

WARNING
If seat covers and upholstery are used
incorrectly, the electrical seat adjustment could
be inadvertently activated and the seat could
move unexpectedly while driving. This could
lead to loss of control of the vehicle, resulting in
accidents and injuries. This could also result in
material damage to the electrical components
of the front seats.
● Never ride with the seat back excessively
tilted backwards. The more the seat
backrest is tilted backwards, the greater the
risk of injury due to incorrect seat belt fit
and incorrect seating position.
● Never drive with the seat backrest tilted
forward. If the front air bag is triggered, it
could throw the backrest backwards and
injure rear seat occupants.
● Never attach or place upholstery or covers
on the electric controls of the seats.
● Always keep as much distance as possible
from the steering wheel and the dashboard.
● Never use upholstery or seat covers that
have not been specifically approved for the
seats in this vehicle.
