Screw the compressor hose onto the tyre valve  
of the collapsible spare wheel.  
Plug the connector of the compressor into an  
electrical socket on the vehicle and switch it on.  
Run the compressor until the tyre pressure rea-  
ches the value listed on the tyre pressure stick-  
Fit the wheel bolt caps back on, as required.  
Put the tools and jack back in their correct stor-  
age location.  
If the replaced wheel will not fit into the spare  
wheel well, stow it safely in the luggage com-  
partment ðpage 92.

Screw the valve cap back onto the valve.  
Check the tyre pressure of the fitted wheel as  
soon as possible.  
Stowing  
Adjust the tyre pressure and store it in the MMI  
Unscrew the valve completely to release the air  
from the tyre. If necessary, seek assistance  
from a qualified workshop.  
Screw the valve back in once the air has esca-  
ped.

The wheel bolts should be tightened to  
160 Nm. Have this checked as soon as possible  
with a torque wrench. Until then, drive with  
caution.  
Wait a few hours before placing the collapsible  
Have the flat tyre replaced as quickly as possi-

temporary use over short distances. After use,  
have it checked as soon as possible by a qualified  
workshop and, if necessary, replaced.  
Snow chains  
For technical reasons, snow chains must not be  
used on the collapsible spare wheel.  
Please note the following restrictions when using  
the collapsible spare wheel. The collapsible spare  
wheel is designed specifically for this model. For  
this reason, do not use a collapsible spare wheel  
from a different type of vehicle.  
Should you have a puncture on one of the rear  
wheels when using snow chains, fit the collapsi-  
ble spare wheel in place of one of the front  
wheels. You can then attach the snow chains to  
the wheel taken from the front and use this  
wheel to replace the punctured rear wheel.  
The collapsible spare wheel is stowed under the  
floor panel in the luggage compartment.  
Important: The tools ðpage 353 and compressor  
must be unpacked and ready for use.  
WARNING  
Use the collapsible spare wheel in an emer-  
gency only and take extra care when driving  
if it is more than 6 years old.  
Removing  
Take hold of the handle and fold back the floor  
panel.  
The compressor and the hose can become  
very hot during operation (risk of burns).  
The tyre pressure must be checked as soon  
as possible after fitting the collapsible spare  
wheel – an incorrectly inflated tyre can in-  
crease the risk of accident.  
Turn the plastic knob anti-clockwise.  
Take out the collapsible spare wheel.  
Pump up the collapsible spare wheel prior to use.
