Press the button on tailgate's exterior.  
Interruption of the closing procedure  
The closing procedure is interrupted in the fol‐  
lowing situations:  
From the inside  
Pull and hold the button in the driver  
door.  
If the vehicle starts off with a jerky move‐  
ment.  
The remote control must be located in the  
car's interior for this function.  
By pressing the button on the outside of  
the tailgate.  
By pressing the button on the inside of the  
tailgate.  
An acoustic signal sounds before the tailgate is  
closed.  
By releasing the button in the driver's door.  
From inside the tailgate  
Malfunction  
Without Comfort Access:  
Safety information  
WARNING  
With manual operation of a blocked tail‐  
gate, it can release itself unexpectedly from  
the blockage. There is a risk of injury or risk of  
property damage. Do not operate the tailgate  
manually if it is blocked. Have it checked by a  
dealer’s service center or another qualified  
service center or repair shop.◀  
Press button on the inside of the tailgate.  
With Comfort Access:  
Manual operation  
Operate the unlocked tailgate manually with a  
slow and smooth motion.  
To close the tailgate fully, press down lightly  
only. Closing occurs automatically.  
Automatic Soft Closing  
Safety information  
Press button, arrow 1, on the inside of the  
tailgate.  
WARNING  
Body parts can be jammed while operat‐  
ing the doors. There is a risk of injury. Make  
sure that the area of movement of the doors is  
clear during opening and closing.◀  
Press button, arrow 2.  
The vehicle will be locked after closing the  
tailgate. The driver's door must be closed  
for this purpose and the remote control

This is the case when:  
Closing  
Push the doors and, if applicable, the tailgate  
lightly.  
The driver is only carrying his or her own  
remote control.  
The closing happens automatically.  
The driver unlocks the vehicle.  
The driver gets into the vehicle through the  
driver's door.  
Personal Profile  
Settings  
Concept  
The settings for the following systems and  
functions are stored in the active profile. The  
scope of storable settings depends on country  
and equipment.  
Via Personal Profiles, individual settings for  
several drivers can be stored and called up  
again when required.  
Unlocking and locking.  
Lights.  
General information  
There are three driver profiles with which per‐  
sonal vehicle settings can be stored. Every re‐  
mote control has one of these driver profiles  
assigned.  
Climate control.  
Radio.  
Instrument cluster.  
Programmable memory buttons.  
Volumes, tone.  
If the vehicle is unlocked using a remote con‐  
trol, the assigned personal driver profile will be  
activated. All settings stored in the driver pro‐  
file are automatically applied.  
Control Display.  
Navigation.  
If several drivers use their own remote control,  
the vehicle will adjust the personal settings  
during unlocking. These settings are also re‐  
stored, if the vehicle has been used in the  
meantime by a person with a different remote  
control.  
PDC Park Distance Control.  
Rearview camera.  
Side View.  
Top View.  
Head-up Display.  
Driving Dynamics Control.  
Changes to the settings are automatically  
stored in the driver profile currently activated.  
If another driver profile is selected via iDrive,  
the settings stored in it will be applied auto‐  
matically. The new driver profile is assigned to  
the remote control currently used.  
Driver's seat position, exterior mirror posi‐  
tion, steering wheel position.  
Intelligent Safety.  
Active Blind Spot Detection.

There is an additional guest profile available  
that is not assigned to any remote control: it  
can be used to apply settings in the vehicle

ferent profile may be activated. This allows you  
to call up personal vehicle settings, even if you
