Note: Voice recognition deactivates auto-  
matically:  
ꢀ following an action using voice commands  
(emission of a double beep),  
ꢀ after a few seconds with no voice com-  
mands (the system says “End of recꢀ  
ognition”).  
You can operate Navidrive using your  
voice.  
NaviDrive lets you access certain func-  
tions by pronouncing the corresponding  
voice label:  
ꢀ
using pre-recorded words and expres-  
sions, for example: “Radio”, “Help”.  
ꢀ
using a label recorded by the user.  
To associate a voice label to a directory file,  
select this file.  
Record a voice label for this file (e.g. “Office”  
or “Home”).  
Activation of the function is confirmed by  
a beep and by the opening of a window on  
the display.  
The system is then listening:  
ꢀ If the word pronounced is understood by  
the system, it is displayed in the window  
and you hear a beep.  
ꢀ If the word pronounced has not been  
understood, the system displays and  
announces “Sorry”.  
You must then repeat the words.  
Example  
To call a number in your telephone direc-  
tory:  
If you say the word “Help” and “What can  
I say”, you will see displayed all the com-  
mands that are available at the moment  
of this request.  
If you should lose your way in the different  
levels of the voice command structure,  
say the word “Cancel” to bring you back  
to the voice commands at the previous  
level of the structure.

To enhance the efficiency of recogni-  
tion of the labels in your directory files,  
it is recommended to record them with  
different intonations.  
The voice commands function in a  
logical sequence. A word voiced at  
one level must be recognised before  
another word at the next level can be  
recognised.  
After the double beep, the desired action is  
performed.  
Say the key words that correspond to the  
action that you wish carried out.  
However careful the user may be, the  
pre-recorded words or expressions will  
always be more easily recognised than  
words recorded by the user.

OW TO ACTIVATE A NAVIGATION  
SYSTEM DEMONSTRATION
?  
The on-board navigation system uses audible  
and visual instructions to guide you towards  
the destination of your choice.  
The system uses GPS and a mapping data-  
base stored on a hard disc.  
The GPS system enables your position  
to be plotted via contact with a number of  
satellites.  
The navigation system is composed of the  
following elements:  
ꢀ A synthesised voice for enunciating the  
guidance instructions during navigation.  
ꢀ A multifunction display.  
ꢀ A GPS aerial.  
ꢀ Controls on your NaviDrive as well as on  
the steering wheel.

You have to initialise the navigation system:  
ꢀ
when you first use the navigation  
ꢀ following a battery disconnection.  
Park the vehicle in the open air so that it can  
make contact with a satellite.  
Place the ignition key in the “Ignition” position  
for 15 minutes.  
If the navigation system has difficulty in  
receiving its GPS positioning from satelꢀ  
lites, this may be caused by the presence  
of bridges, underground carparks, etc.,  
which may temporarily interfere with vehiꢀ  
cle location or guidance calculation.  
The demonstration gives you a simulation  
of the Navigation function.  
The demonstration only operates if the  
Navigation function is displaying (sucꢀ  
cessive presses on button mODE).  
ꢀ Keep the mENu button pressed.  
ꢀ Enter a destination (see “How to enter  
an address ?”).  
ꢀ Launch Navigation to start the demon-  
stration.  
The departure point will be either the current  
location of the vehicle or the last location  
known.  
You can use the demonstration menu to enter a different point of departure to where you are now.  
This lets you plan a trip that you are wishing to make.  
If your NaviDrive should malfunction, press for at least 10 seconds on the DARK button to re-initialise the system.

The Multifunction screen  
During a guidance, you have access to the  
following types of information:  
Apart from on the screen, the manœuvres  
to be made are announced by a voice  
synthesiser.  
a manœuvre to be made, or direction to be  
taken.  
b Distance to the next manoeuvre.  
c Next manoeuvre to be made.  
d Next road to be taken and name of  
town.  
Repeating the last piece of voice inforꢀ  
mation  
A few seconds after enunciation of a guid-  
ance voice instruction, you have the pos-  
sibility of hearing it again.  
Keep the end of the lighting control stalk  
pressed.

How to adjust the volume for the voice  
instructions ?  
While a voice instruction is being spoken,  
press on the volume adjustment button

Note: After starting a guidance, a display informs you on the precautions in force concerning the use  
of navigation.

Do not operate the CD player if the tem-  
perature in the cabin is higher than +60°C  
or lower than -10 °C.  
Some CDs are badly affected by very strong  
heat and may damage your CD player.  
In excessive temperature, an automatic  
safety mechanism prevents the CD from  
operating until the temperature becomes  
more acceptable.  
Burning format  
IV  
Format mP3 (mPEG 1,2 & 2,5 Audio Layer 3)  
is a compression norm for audio, allowing  
you to record 10 times as many musical  
files on one CD.  
Your NaviDrive only reads files with the exten-  
sion “.mp3”. The other types of files (.wav,  
.mpg4, .ogg, midi, etc.) cannot be read.  
When you insert a CD mP3, the radio  
searches all the musical tracks. Playback  
may require some tens of seconds before  
starting.  
Some cut CDs cannot be read by your equip-  
ment (quality, speed of recording, etc.).  
When you burn a CD-R or CD-RW, select  
the burning standard ISO 9660 level 1,2 or  
Joliet. Playback of other formats may not  
occur correctly. use the Joliet standard to  
burn multi-session CDs.  
On a given CD, always use the same burn-  
ing standard.  
To obtain the best possible acoustic quality,  
select the lowest burning speed.  
HANDLING OF CDS  
Playback of the CD mP3 is optimised if the  
cover level is limited to 2.  
ꢀ Do not drop them.  
ꢀ Store the CDs so that they are kept of  
dust. Avoid touching the disc surface as  
any scratches may adversely affect the  
sound quality.  
Transmission speeds of 8 to 320 kbits/s  
and bands of 22,05 to 44,1 kHz are accom-  
modated.  
ꢀ Do not attach any stickers to the discs.

Do not use damaged or deformed

Jukebox source copies the CDs in 4x.  
For example: a CD of 1 hour will be copied in 15 minutes.  
During copying, the CD cannot be played back. Playback is again possible during  
compression. The other Audio sources remain available at any time.  
If you copy a CD that is not in MP3 format, Jukebox source will itself compress the CD  
once the copying is completed. The compression rate in MP3 can be parametered (see  
Audio menu - Jukebox configuration). The compression time is added to the time taken  
by your system to copy the CD. (the copying time will be multiplied by 2).  
An alert tells you that the copying of the CD is finished.  
If it is not a CD mP3, Jukebox source compresses the CD automatically.  
An alert tells you that the compressing of the CD is finished.  
At any time, you can stop the copying of the CD/CD MP3 by accessing the Audio main  
menu. The compression cannot be stopped. Stopping copying of CDs/CD MP3 does  
not delete the files already transferred onto the hard disc of Jukebox source.  
Musical work is protected by law. It can only be copied in the context of private use and distribution, for commercial reasons. Any  
copying contrevening these conditions is an act of counterfeit, punishable by law.

is no service in the country concerned,  
the SOS button is set to trigger a call to 112, a  
unique number reserved for emergency calls  
by the European GSm network. However,
