Your NaviDrive may be subject to
phenomena which you do not encounꢁ
ter with the installation you have at
home.
Reception in AM as in FM is affected
by various kinds of interference that
have nothing to do with the quality
of your equipment but are due to the
nature of the signals and the way they
are sent out.
A list of the stations available locally is
updated automatically every 10 minutes. The
stations are graded alphabetically and then
by frequency in ascending order.
ꢀ Press on button LIST to access the list of
stations available.
In Fm, keep button BAND pressed for more
than 2 seconds to start the automatic memo-
risation function (Autostore).
The 6 strongest transmitters are memorised
in the Fmast memory bank. They replace the
6 previously memorised.
ꢀ Rotate the control to choose a station.
ꢀ Press on the control to validate.
Note:
If you have activated the “TA” function (traffic
information), the transmitters offering this
service are memorised first.
In AM, you may notice disturbance
when passing under high tension
cables or bridges, or in tunnels.
In FM, distance from the transmitter,
deflecting of the signal by obstacles
(mountains, hills, high buildings,
etc.), or blind spots (no coverage by
transmitters) may cause interference
with reception.
Keep button LIST pressed to
update the list of stations availꢁ
able.

STATION SEARCH
IV
The RDS (Radio Data System) function
allows you:
ꢀ to listen to the same station even though
you are travelling through different regions
(on condition that the transmitters for this
station cover the area being travelled
through),
to listen to traffic announcement flashes
on a temporary basis
ꢀ to have the station name displayed, etc.
Certain stations are organised in a net-
work.
In the various regions, they transmit pro-
grammes that are sometimes different,
sometimes common.
You can do a search:
ꢀ On a regional station only
Your NaviDrive automatically checks and
selects the best frequency for the radio sta-
tion captured (provided the station transmits
on more than one frequency).
The frequency of a radio station extends
to around 50 km. Loss of reception during
a journey is explained by the change from
one frequency to another.
If the station you have selected does not
broadcast on different frequencies in the
areas in which you are travelling, it is possible
to deactivate the automatic RDS transmission
scanning function.
ꢀ On the entire network, with the possibility
of hearing a different programme.
The majority of FM stations use the
RDS system.
These stations process nonꢁaudio data
in addition to their programmes.
The data broadcast in this way gives
you access to a variety of functions
that are described in this chapter,
notably the display of the station name,
temporary traffic information flashes
and automatic station search.
ꢀ When the function is activated: your
NaviDrive does not change from one
regional station to another.
ꢀ When the function is deactivated:
your NaviDrive selects the best freꢁ
quency from among the regional
stations.
The display will indicate:
ꢀ RDS while the function is activated
and available.
ꢀ RDS shaded while the function is
activated but not available for the
station being listened to.
It allows to listen to the same staꢁ
tion thanks to the frequency search.
But RDS frequency search is not
guaranteed over the whole country.
The radio stations cannot cover the
entire territory, which explains the
loss of reception of the station during
a journey.

The “TA” function lets you switch automati-
cally on a temporary basis to an Fm station
broadcasting road information.
The radio station, or the audio source being
listened to at that moment, is paused. Once
the traffic information is finished, the system
switches back to the radio station or audio
source initially being listened to.
TA/PTY button to activate auto-
matic broadcasting of traffic announcemnts.
Press on the TA/PTY button to stop listening
to a message being broadcast.
In this case, the “TA” function
remains activated.
If you activate the “TA” function,
the transmitters compatible with
broadcasting of these messages
will be captured as priority
during an automatic search or
preꢁsetting of stations.
The display will indicate:
ꢀ TA provided the station is com-
patible.
ꢀ TA shaded if the station is not
compatible.
HOW TO ADJUST THE VOLUME FOR
TRAFFIC ANNOUNCEMENTS ?
J
or
CONDITIONS FOR RECEIVING TRAFFIC

K
During broadcasting of traffic announce-
ments, the sound volume can be adjusted
independently of the general radio vol-
ume.
Rotate the control or press on the controls
at the steering wheel J and K to increase or
decrease the volume.
ꢀ You have to be in Fm.
The station you are tuned to must confirm
through the RDS system that it broadcasts
road information.
ꢀ Stations organised in a network (EON)
have regional transmitters sending their
own programmes. While listening to one
of these stations you can switch to any
station on the network that is broadcasting
traffic information messages.
The adjustment is automatically
memorised.
