STARTING AND DRIVING -> Manual Transmission for Your Fiat Panda SUV Fourth Generation (2024-2026)

petrol operation, if high performance is
required.
WARNING
39) A quick burst on the accelerator before
stopping the engine serves no practical
purpose; it wastes fuel and is especially
damaging to turbocharged engines.
121) Never leave children unattended in
the car. Always remove the key from the
ignition when leaving the car and take it
with you.
B
122) The car should be braked after a few
clicks of the lever, if it is not, contact a Fiat
Dealership to have it adjusted.
WHEN PARKED
A
When parking and leaving the car,
proceed as follows:
123) In the case of parking manoeuvres
on roads on a gradient, the front wheels
must be steered towards the pavement
(when parking downhill), or in the opposite
direction if the vehicle is parked uphill.
Block the wheels with a wedge or a stone
if the car is parked on a steep slope.
112

st
engage a gear (1 gear if facing
uphill or reverse if facing downhill) and
leave the wheels turned;
B
stop the engine and engage the
handbrake;
always remove the ignition key. Block
the wheels with a wedge or a stone if
the car is parked on a steep slope.

the required position (the diagram for
gear engagement is shown on the
knob fig. 114).

not drive with your foot resting on
the clutch pedal, however lightly. For
versions/markets where provided, the
electronic clutch control could cut in,
interpreting the incorrect driving style
as a fault.
FOUR-WHEEL DRIVE
(Panda Cross 4x4 and Panda 4x4
versions)
The Panda Cross 4x4 and Panda 4x4
is provided with a transmission system,
"torque on demand" type, which sends
the drive torque to the rear axle on
request. It comprises two differentials
and an electronically controlled
coupling.
For the 1.0 FireFly Hybrid version:

require shifting down to 5 gear, we
recommend doing so to facilitate
accelerating later.
Thanks to this system, the activation
of the four-wheel drive takes place
automatically (i.e. without requiring
any action by the driver) and allows
for optimal distribution of drive torque
between front and rear axles, in low
grip conditions.
For 0.9 TwinAir, 0.9 TwinAir Turbo and
1.2 8V 69 HP LPG versions (where
provided): to engage reverse gear R
from neutral, raise ring (A) fig. 114
underneath the knob and, at the same
time, shift the gear lever to the right
and then backwards (diagram (B)).

gear to reach the top speed.
The use of the electronically controlled

transfer and delivery, with very fast
implementation times (a fraction of

recognisable by the driver.

124) Press the clutch pedal fully to change
gears correctly. It is therefore essential that
there is nothing under the pedals: make
sure the mats are lying flat and do not get
in the way of the pedals.
The car copes easily with snow, ice,
mud and dirt roads, even where slopes
are fairly steep.
WARNING Reverse can only be
engaged when the car is completely
stationary. With the engine running,
wait for at least 2 seconds with the
clutch pedal fully pressed before
engaging reverse to prevent damage to
the gears and grating.
IMPORTANT
For improved driveability of the car, in
off-road conditions, we advise against
using the CITY function.
40) Do not drive with your hand resting on
the gear lever as the force exerted, even if
slight, could lead over time to premature
wear of the gearbox internal components.

be used only for gear changes. Do
