STARTING AND DRIVING -> INTELLIGENT SPEED ASSIST for Your Fiat Tipo 4 Door Second Generation (2015-2026)

INTELLIGENT SPEED
ASSIST
IMPORTANT
130) The system only detects preset traffic
signs if the minimum visibility conditions
and distance from the sign are met.
131) The system is an aid for driving and
does not relieve the driver of responsibility
for driving the car. Always respect the
highway code of the country you are
driving in.
132) When the system is active, the driver
is responsible for controlling the car and
monitoring the system, and must be ready
to intervene as appropriate if necessary.
(where provided)
The system can be used to set a
speed limit equal to that indicated on
the road sign detected by the “Traffic
Sign Recognition” system (see the
respective chapter in this section for
more information), indicated to the
driver by means of an indication on the
instrument panel.
The maximum speed can be set both
with car stationary and in motion.
The minimum speed that can be set is
30 km/h.

SPEED LIMIT
PROGRAMMING
48) Functionality may be limited or the
system may not work if the sensor is
obstructed.
49) The system may have limited operation
or not work at all in weather conditions,
such as heavy rain, hail, thick fog and low
temperatures. Strong light contrasts can
influence the recognition capability of the
sensor.
The system can be activated if the
driver has activated the systems
beforehand:

Speed Limiter
Traffic Sign Recognition
A message indicating that a speed
limit switch to that detected by the
Traffic Sign Recognition system can be
programmed on the instrument panel
display with these systems active.
If the speed is higher than the current
speed level stored by the Speed
Limiter, message will appear on the
instrument panel.
50) The area surrounding the sensor must
not be covered with stickers or any other
object.
51) Do not tamper or perform any
operations in the area of the windscreen
glass directly surrounding the sensor.
52) Clean the windscreen glass from
foreign matters such as bird droppings,
insects, snow or ice. Use specific
detergents and clean cloths to avoid
scratching the windscreen.
139
P2001062
If the speed shown by the Traffic Sign
Recognition is lower than the current
137
speed level stored by the Speed
Limiter, message will appear on the
instrument panel.
The system is disabled until the speed
drops below the set limit, after which it
activates again automatically.
SYSTEM ACTIVATION
If the driver has selected the
SETTINGS
The system settings can be changed
through the Uconnect™ or
Uconnect™ 7" HD system (see

"Intelligent Speed Assist").
confirmation capture option on the
Uconnect™ or Uconnect™ 7" HD
system settings (see "Settings" >
"Safety & Driving Assist" > "Intelligent

a new speed limit, the "Traffic Sign
Recognition" system will suggest
the new limit via a message on the
instrument cluster display.

SYSTEM DEACTIVATION
The system is deactivated under the
following conditions:
(where provided)
when the Traffic Sign Recognition
system is deactivated;
when the Speed Limiter system is
deactivated;
when the Traffic Sign Recognition
system shows a new speed limit;
when the Traffic Sign Recognition
system shows the end of the speed
limit;
The driver can accept the new limit
pressing the button (1) fig. 140 within
the first 5 seconds of the new road sign
appearing to set the new system speed
limit to the speed suggested by the
sign.
This is an auxiliary driving assistance
system that detects when the driver is
tired.
Activation / deactivation
The system can be
activated/deactivated using the
"Settings" menu of the Uconnect™
or Uconnect 7" HD system and then
selecting "Safety/Driving Assistance"
and finally "Driver Attention Assist".
The AAD system settings are
reactivated each time the engine is
started.
Activation is indicated by the symbol
on the display (e.g. in the case of
a 30 km/h speed limit) and the green
circle around the road sign indicating
the speed limit.
when the Traffic Sign Recognition
system cannot display any speed limit.
EXCEEDING THE
PROGRAMMED SPEED
By fully depressing the accelerator
pedal, the programmed speed can be
exceeded even with the system active
(e.g. in the event of overtaking).
System intervention
The system intervenes if the camera in
the centre of the windscreen detects
that the driver is tired, based on
