Additional Information About Your Seat Belts
Seat Belt System Components
Your seat belt system includes lap/
shoulder belts in all five seating
positions. On some types, the centre
position of the rear seat has a lap
belt.
On some types, the front seat belts
are also equipped with automatic
seat belt tensioners.
Seat Belt Reminder
(Except EU models)
Indicator
The seat belt system also includes an
indicator on the instrument panel to
remind you and your passengers to
fasten your belts. If the driver’s seat
belt is not fastened before the
(EU models)
The seat belt system includes an
indicator on the instrument panel
and a beeper to remind you and your
passengers to fasten your seat belts.
ignition is turned to the ON (II)
position, the indicator will come on
and a beeper will also sound. The
beeper will stop after a few seconds,
but the indicator will stay on until the
driver’s seat belt is fastened.
If you turn the ignition switch to the
ON (II) position before fastening
your seat belt, the beeper sounds
and the indicator flashes. If you do
not fasten your seat belt before the
beeper stops, the indicator stops
flashing but remains on.
On some types, the seat belt system
does not have a reminder beeper.
Only the indicator comes on as
described above.
If you continue driving without
fastening your seat belt, the beeper
sounds and the indicator flashes
again at regular intervals.
