Overview of the toll system
Debiting of toll charges at highway toll gates is
facilitated with an electronic payment system.
When the toll system is activated, the number of
vehicle occupants is ꢀrst transmitted manually
and is preset with one person.
Mercedes-Benz recommends operation using
the MBUX multimedia system. Alternatively,
this can also be done on the control unit in
the glove box.
The toll system uses RFID (Radio Frequency Iden-
tiꢀcation) for data transfer between the control
unit and the toll station.
The number of vehicle occupants can be transmit-
ted automatically. In the process, the number of
seat belts worn is determined.
R
R
For safety reasons, entries should be made
while the vehicle stationary.
The toll system is initially switched oꢂ at the fac-
tory.
The toll system is operational in all states in the
USA and in all provinces in Canada.
For further information, please consult the
Mercedes me app or an authorized Mercedes-
Benz Center.
The control unit is in the vehicle glove box.
