Bulb Replacement  
Before replacing any bulb, ensure that the START/STOP  
Switch and lighting switches are OFF so as to avoid any  
possibility of a short circuit. When replacing the bulb,  
actions shall be gentle so as not to damage the lamp.

Note: Only replace bulbs with the same type and  
specification.  
Front Indicator Lamps

Note: If the bulb glass is scratched or contaminated,  
it may cause the bulb can not concentrate the light.  
Take care NOT to touch the glass with your fingers;  
If necessary, clean the glass with methylated spirits to  
remove fingerprints.  
Front Fog Lamps

(bulb configuration)

Consult an Authorised MG Repairer on specific  
replacement operation.  
Reverse Lamps

License Plate Lamps  
Note: Bulb HB3SL+ is identical with HB3 in shape and  
structure, and is only superior in reliability and service  
life.  
Note: Other light sources not included in the list are  
LED , which cannot be replaced individually.

Locate the cover plug.

Open the bonnet——see “Bonnet” in the  
“Maintenance” section.  
Connect the negative battery terminal.  
10 Test headlamp operation.

Disconnect the battery negative terminal.  
11 Close the bonnet——see “Bonnet” in the  
“Maintenance” section.  
Identify and locate the headlamp bulb cover plug, and  
remove it.

Rotate the bulb anti-clockwise and remove.  
Remove the wiring connector from the bulb.  
Refit the wiring connector to the new bulb.  
Locate the bulb in the lamp, rotate clockwise until fully  
secured.

Open the bonnet——see “Bonnet” in the

Disconnect the battery negative terminal.  
Rotate the bulb holder anti-clockwise and remove.

Remove the bulb from the holder.  
Install new bulb into the holder.  
Locate the bulb holder in the lamp, rotate clockwise  
until fully secured.

Connect the negative battery terminal.  
Test lamp operation.

Remove the wiring connector from the bulb holder.  
Refit the wiring connector to the new bulb holder.

Disconnect the battery negative terminal.

Safely raise and support the front of the vehicle with  
suitable support equipment. DO NOT work under a  
vehicle that is only supported by a scissor or trolley  
jack.  
Locate the bulb holder in the lamp, rotate clockwise  
until fully secured.

Fit the bottom deflector.  
Connect the negative battery terminal.

Remove the bottom deflector.  
10 Test lamp operation.  
Rotate the bulb holder anti-clockwise and remove.

Reverse Lamp Bulb Renewal

Test lamp operation.

Disconnect the battery negative terminal.

For reverse lamp bulb replacement, it is necessary to  
remove the rear bumper cover, seek guidance from an  
Authorised MG Repairer.

Rotate the bulb holder anti-clockwise and remove.

Remove the bulb from the holder.  
Install new bulb into the holder.  
Locate the bulb holder in the lamp, rotate clockwise  
until fully secured.

Fit the rear bumper.  
Connect the negative battery terminal.

Install new bulb into the holder.

Open and support the tail gate——see “Alarm  
Systems” in the “Starting and Driving” section.  
Locate the bulb holder in the lamp, rotate clockwise  
until fully secured.

Disconnect the battery negative terminal.  
Remove the tail gate interior trim panel.  
Remove the wiring connector of the lamp.

Refit the wiring connector  
10 Fit the tail gate interior trim panel.  
11 Connect the negative battery terminal.  
12 Close the tail gate.  
13 Test lamp operation.

Rotate the bulb holder anti-clockwise and remove.  
Remove the bulb from the holder.

Front Interior Lamp Bulb Renewal  
assembly. Push the lens upwards until it ‘clicks’ into  
position

Disconnect the battery negative terminal.

Connect the negative battery terminal.  
Test lamp operation.

Use a small flat-bladed screwdriver to gently prise the  
lens from the lamp assembly.

Remove the bulb from its mounting to remove.  
Install new bulb.  
Install the lens, locate the two prongs at the front  
of the lens and then carefully flex the lens to locate  
the two prongs at the rear of the lens into the lamp
