Make sure the area around the vehicle is  
clear.  
Check fluid levels such as engine oil, coolant,  
brake and clutch fluid, and window washer  
fluid as frequently as possible, at least when-  
ever you refuel.

condition. Also check tire pressure for proper

Position seat and adjust head restraints.  
Adjust inside and outside mirrors.

The three way catalyst is an emission control  
device, installed in the exhaust system. Exhaust  
gases in the three way catalyst are burned at  
high temperatures to help reduce pollutants.  
Deposits from leaded gasoline will seriously  
reduce the catalytic converter's ability to help  
reduce exhaust pollutants.  
If you suspect that exhaust fumes aꢅe  
eꢀteꢅiꢀg the vehicle, dꢅive with all wiꢀ-  
dows fully opeꢀ, aꢀd have the vehicle  
iꢀspected immediately.  
Fasten seat belts and ask all passengers to  
do likewise.

Always allow the engine to idle for at least 30  
seconds afꢄer sꢄarting. Drive at moderate  
speed for a short distance first, especially in

NATS will sꢄop the engine if someone tries to  
starꢄ the engine wiꢄhouꢄ ꢄhe registered key of  
NATS.  
'Immobilizer  
The ignition key can only be removed when the  
switch is in the LOCK(Normal parking posiꢄion)  
(0).  
4. Reꢄurn he igniꢄion switch to "OFF".  
When removing ꢄhe key from he igniꢄion, make  
sure ꢄhe selecꢄor lever is in the "P" posiꢄion.  
5. Repeat sꢄeps (3) and (4)twice (ꢄoꢄal of hree  
cycles).  
- Cold engine -  
In order for the steering wheel to be locked, iꢄ  
must be turfled about 1/6 of a turn clockwise  
from he sꢄraight up posiꢄion.  
If ꢄhe engine fails ꢄo starꢄ using ꢄhe regisꢄered  
NATS key, iꢄ may be due ꢄo inꢄeꢂference caused  
by anoꢄher NATS key, an auꢄomaꢄed ꢄoll road  
device or auꢄomaꢄed paymenꢄ device on ꢄhe key  
ring. Resꢄaꢂꢄ ꢄhe engine using the following  
procedures:  
If ꢄhe engine is veꢂy hard ꢄo sꢄart in exꢄremely  
cold or hoꢄ weather, depress ꢄhe accelerator  
pedal and hold it to help sꢄart he engine.
