WARNING:
b) Push and hold the ACCEURES set switch.
When the vehicle attains the speed you
desire, release the switch.
Safe parking pꢃocedures requiꢃe that
both the parking brake be set and the
transmission placed into the P (Paꢃk) for
automatictransmission models oꢃ in an
appꢃopꢃiate gear foꢃ manual transmis-
sion models. Failure to do so could
cause the vehicle to move unexpectedly
or roll away and ꢃesult in an accident.
The tꢃansfer shift lever must be
in the 2H, 4H or 4L position and the
parking bꢃake must be applied to pre-
vent the vehicle from rolling.
When the SET indicator light blinks, turn the
cruise control main switch OFF and have the
system checked by a NISSAN dealer.
To cancel the preset speed, follow any of
these three methods:
c) Push, then quickly release the ACCEU
RES set switch. Each time you do this, the
set speed will increase by about 1 .6 km/h (1
MPH).
a) Push the CANCEL switch; The SET indicator
The SET indicator light may blink when the
cruise control main switch is turned on while
pushing the ACCEURES, COAST/SET, or
CANCEL switch. To properly set the cruise
control system, perform the preceding steps
in the order indicated.

To reset at a slower cruising speed, follow
either of these three methods:
Make sure the automatic tꢃansmission
selectoꢃ lever has been pushed as far
foꢀaꢃd as it can go and cannot be
moved without depressing the foot
bꢃake pedal.
c) Turn the main switch off. Both the CRUISE
and SET indicator lights will go out.
CRUISE CONTROL OPERATIONS
a) Lightly tap the brake pedal. When the vehicle
attains the desired speed, push the
COAST/SET switch and release it.
The cruise control allows driving at speeds
above 48 km/h (30 MPH) without your foot on
the accelerator pedal.
If you depress the brake pedal while pushing
the ACCEURES or COAST/SET switch and
reset at the cruising speed, the cruise control
will disengage. Turn the main switch off once
and then turn it on again.
Never leave the engine running while
vehicle is unattended.
b) Push and hold the COAST/SET switch. Re-
lease the switch when the vehicle slows
down to the desired speed.
If the automatic tꢃansmission paꢃk
waꢃning light "ATP" is ON, this indi-
cates that the automatic transmission P
(Park) position will not function and the
tꢃansfeꢃ shift leveꢃ is in the N position.
Failure to engage the tꢃansfershift leveꢃ
in 2H, 4H or4L could result in the vehicle
moving unexpectedly, resulting in seꢃi-
ous personal injuꢂ oꢃ pꢃopeꢃty damage.
To turn on the cꢃuise control, push the main
switch on. The cruise control on indicator light
CRUISE will come on.
Never leave childꢃen unattended in the
vehicle.
The cruise control will automatically be can-
celled if the vehicle slows down below ap-
proximately 1 3 km/h (8 MPH).
c) Push, then quickly release the COAST/
SET switch. Each time you do this, the set
speed will decrease by about 1 .6 km/h (1
MPH).
To set at the cruising speed, accelerate your
vehicle to the desired speed, push the
COAST/SET switch and release it. (The cruise
set indicator light SETwill come on.) Take your
foot off the accelerator pedal. Your vehicle will
maintain the set speed.
1 . Firmly apply the parking brake.
2. Manual transmission models:
,I
II
Depress the clutch pedal (manual transmis-
sion), or move the selector lever to N position
(automatic transmission). The SET indicator
light will go out.
Place the shift lever in the R (Reverse) posi-
tion. When parking on an uphill grade, place
the gearshift lever in the 1st position.
To resume the pꢃeset speed, push and re-
lease the ACCEURES set switch. The vehicle
will resume the last set cruising speed when the
vehicle speed is over 48 km/h (30 MPH).
