Instruments and controls -> INTERIOR LIGHTS for Your Nissan X Trail SUV First Generation (2000-2006)

If the sunroof does not close
Turn the ignition key off.
1. Remove the cover.
2. Take out the crank handle supplied in the
luggage under box.
3. Insert the longer side of the crank handle into
the hole.
쐌 Turn the handle clockwise to close the sun-
roof.
쐌 If the sunroof is tilted up, turn the handle
counterclockwise.
Have your NISSAN dealer check and repair the
sunroof.
ROOM LIGHT
The room light has a three-position switch.
When the switch is in the center 쎻 or DOOR
position, the light will illuminate when a door
(including back door) is opened.
Interior light timer
The room light will stay on for about 30 seconds
when:
쐌 The driver’s door is unlocked by the keyfob or
a key while all doors are locked.
쐌 The key is removed from the ignition switch

while all doors are closed.
쐌 The driver’s door is unlocked while the key is
removed from the ignition switch.
쐌 The driver’s door is opened and then closed
while other doors are closed.
The room light will turn off while the 30 second
timer is activated, when:
쐌 The driver’s door is locked either with the
keyfob, a key, the door inside lock knob, or
the power door lock switch.
쐌 The ignition switch is turned ON.
CAUTION
쐌 Turn off the interior lights when you
leave the vehicle.
쐌 Do not use for extended periods of
time with the engine stopped. This
could result in a discharged battery.
MAP LIGHT
CAUTION
쐌 Turn off the interior lights when you

LUGGAGE ROOM LIGHT
The luggage room light has a three-position
switch.
When the switch is in the center 쎻 position, the
light will illuminate when a door (including the
back door) is opened.
Interior light timer
Timer function works the same as ROOM
LIGHT, see “ROOM LIGHT” earlier in this sec-
tion.
CAUTION
쐌 Turn off the interior lights when you
leave the vehicle.
