In the event of a breakdown  
With BlueHDi 100 S&S BVM5 Other engines  
(5-speed manual), BlueHDi  
For more information on the Electric  
parking brake and, in particular, parking  
the vehicle with the brake released, refer  
to the corresponding section.  
F Fill the fuel tank with at least five litres of  
115 S&S and BlueHDi 120  
S&S engines  
Diesel.  
F Open the bonnet.  
F If necessary, unclip the cover to access the  
priming pump.  
F Fill the fuel tank with at least 5 litres of  
Diesel.  
F Switch on the ignition (without starting the  
engine).  
F Wait around 6 seconds and switch off the  
ignition.  
F Repeat the operation 10 times.  
F Operate the starter to run the engine.  
Running out of fuel  
(Diesel)  
On vehicles fitted with Diesel engines, the fuel  
system must be primed if you run out of fuel.  
For all versions other than BlueHDi, refer to the  
corresponding engine compartment view.  
F Operate the priming pump repeatedly until  
resistance is felt (there may be resistance at  
the first press).  
F Operate the starter to start the engine (if the  
engine does not start at the first attempt,  
wait around 15 seconds before trying  
again).  
F If the engine does not start after a few  
attempts, operate the priming pump again  
then start the engine.  
F Put the cover in place and clip it in.  
F Close the bonnet.  
With BlueHDi 100 S&S  
BVM6 (6-speed manual),  
BlueHDi 130 S&S and  
BlueHDi 180 S&S engines  
For more information on Diesel misfuel  
prevention, refer to the corresponding  
section.  
F Fill the fuel tank with at least 5 litres of  
Diesel.  
If the engine does not start first time, do  
not keep trying, but start the procedure  
again from the beginning.  
F Switch on the ignition (without starting the  
engine).  
F Wait around 1 minute and switch off the  
ignition.  
F Operate the starter to run the engine.  
If the engine does not start, repeat the  
procedure.
