The vehicle battery system has the task
of guaranteeing the electrical energy for
starting the engine and of feeding the
various vehicle components that
consume electricity.
One-Battery System
The various components that consume
electricity are all supplied by one battery in
all operating conditions.
To ensure a sufficient energy supply for all
of the electrical components as well as for
the starting system, a one-battery system
or a two-battery system is used on the
Phaeton depending upon the engine and
other equipment installed.
The repair instructions for
battery removal and installation
must be carefully observed to
avoid malfunctions in some
electrical components that may
otherwise be caused by a
complete voltage failure.
