Tw o-Battery System
If either battery is discharged, the vehicle
can still be started. The Battery Monitoring
Control Module J367 and the Parallel
Battery Connection Relay J581 can
reroute current when necessary to enable
the system components needed to start
the engine.
Vehicles with W12 engines are equipped
with two-battery systems.
The two-battery system includes a starter
battery, a separate on-board power supply
battery, a Parallel Battery Connection Relay
J581, and a Battery Monitoring Control
Module J367.
The starter battery supplies electrical power
to the starting circuit for starting the
engine. The on-board power supply battery
supplies the additional power needed for
the 12V on-board power supply system.
