Electric windows and electrically adjustable seats may be protected bycircuit breakers which switch on again  
automatically a few seconds after the overload, e.g. frozen windows, has been rectified.

Opening and closing the fuse box in the engine compartment  
1. Open the bonnet (→ In the engine compartment).  
2. To open, press the catches in the direction of the arrows→ Fig. 1 (arrows) to unlock the fuse box cover.  
3. Lift off the cover.  
4. To close, position the cover on the fuse box and press it downwards until the cover audibly clicks into place on  
both sides.  
There may be a pair of plastic pliers for removing fuses in the fuse box.

The table shows the fuse locations of the electrical equipment relevant for the driver. The first column in the table  
contains the location. The other columns contain the fuse designs, the amp rating and the consumer protected by the  
fuse.  
Depending on the market and specification of your vehicle, the fuse numbers and locations may differ to those given  
in the table. If necessary, ask your Volkswagen Commercial Vehicles dealership for the exact fuse assignment.

Replacing blown fuses  
Preparations  
1. Switch off the ignition, the lights and all electrical consumers.  
2. Open the corresponding fuse box , .  
Detecting a blown fuse

If the metal strip is melted this indicates that the fuse has blown→ Fig. 1.  
Shine a torch onto the fuse. This will help you to spot the blown fuse more easily.  
Fuse types  
Standard flat blade fuse (ATO®).

Large flat blade fuse (MAXI® or MAXI+®).
